Clue # 2 A wannabe actress
-
loliteblue I remember those days at the movies during the matinees and it was fun indeed. I recall seeing "The House of Wax" in 3-D which was exciting.
OK on with the game:
Clue # 1 1930s Hollywood
-
I was thinking the same thing when Lansbury said she refused the role due to the evil character. I think she didn't want it because of the foul language and nudity
in the film which of course "The Manchurian Candidate" didn't contain. I only wish that Larry King asked her that question.

Now your cooking with gas.
Is it "13 Ghost"?
-
As far as black beauties go its Dorothy Dandridge for me.
Don't forget about Thelma Todd, Debra Paget, Merle Oberon, Elizabeth Taylor, Maria Montez, Maureen O'Hara,
Lana Turner, Hedy Lamarr etc. etc. etc.

After watching Angela Lansbury in her Oscar nominated role in "The Manchurian Candidate" I believe she could have played the evil nurse in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" very well. It's just that she didn't want to play such a despicable character.

Loliteblue you got in on the nose. Congratulations!
My next clue was gonna be that the movie was banned in Detroit.

I'll also be watching this versatile actress that just about has done it all. Also note that she is a very generous human being helping her fellow stars to get work on "Murder, She Wrote" and getting health insurance etc.
This Wednesday she goes very plain as the Granny of the family in "The Blackwater Lightship" on CBS at 9:00 pm.
A rare talent indeed.

The correct spelling for Ben's name is Gazzara.
Also should have mentioned that Elaine Stritch is a prominent stage actress and a good one too.
