That concludes my trivia tribute to the one and only Ann Miller who will be missed very much. Thank goodness we have her films with the tap,tap,tap of those fabulous legs. Rest in peace sweet lady.

Best remembered as the fragile Mina under Bela Lugosi's spell in "Dracula" (1931).
Also in "The Last Flight", "A House Divided", "Christopher Strong", "Goodbye Again" w/Blondell, "Midnight Alibi" w/Dvorak, "Long Lost Father" w/J. Barrymore etc.
Left the screen in 1937 for a stage career which was sidetracked due to alcohol and pill dependency. Commited to a sanitarium and years later was disfigured in a fire (smoking in bed). She died following surgery for a bleeding ulcer. Her cremated remains were never claimed.

I always recall reading a story when Olivia de Havilland won one of her Oscars that Fontaine came over to congratulate her and Olivia ignored her sister by saying "I don't know why she does that when she knows I don't like it". It supposedly started the "feud" news.
In any event in recent years it was noted that Fontaine has either given or loaned her sister money.
Perhaps blood is thicker than water or even Oscars for that matter.
