  2. Kidadan Cary Grant never made a four hour film. Actually the TV movie "Poor Little Rich Girl" (1987) with Farrah Fawcett as Barbara Hutton was 233 minutes long (close to 4 hours). In the TV movie Cary Grant is portrayed by actor James Read as one of Hutton's many husbands.

  7. Antar most of us do care about the anniversary of a stars death especially one so beautiful and prominent as Hedy Lamarr. I'll never forget the first time I saw her in the movie "White Cargo" when she appeared and spoke

"I am Tondelayo". She was a vision of beauty and it took my breath away.

I saw her from a distance down here in Florida when she was entering a store. Wearing dark glasses, slender and a most attractive redhead, she was still the elegant movie star.

She lived at North Bay Village in Southern Florida and from an article in a paper down here her neighbors adored and respected her.

Did you know that she depended on TCM to send her videos of her movies? When she lost or misplaced them she would call and ask for another batch. I wonder if Robert Osborne had a hand in it.

Also in the 1980s she wrote some songs after getting her poor eyesight corrected. She also said that Spencer Tracy wasn't one of her favorite people and that she taught Robert Taylor how to kiss correctly on the screen.

Ah yes Miss Lamarr was certainly one of a kind and in my opinion in a tie with Ava Gardner as the most beautiful women in Hollywood.

  8. Neptune for your information it has already been noted about the resemblance between Herbert Marshall and Fay Bainter on the "Relatively Speaking" thread.

Although Marshall wasn't your typical hunky actor he certainly held his own with Hollywood's leading actresses especially Dietrich in "Blonde Venus" and with Bette Davis in "The Letter" and "The Little Foxes". As far as the name Van goes Mr. Heflin most likely paved the way for Tab, Rock, Guy, Rip, Lex, etc.
