Coffeedan, we received a game in the mail today called
"Brooklyn In-A-Box" and it looks just like "Monopoly" except it has streets and avenues in Brooklyn and the game pieces are a hot dog, egg cream, Brooklyn Bridge,
baseball cap, Wonder Wheel (Coney Island) etc.
The interesting thing is the game was made in the USA
(surprise, surprise) but the topper is it was made in
Cincinnati! The company is called Late for The Sky. I figured you would get a kick out of that since your theme trivia of last week.
Of course coming from Brooklyn we will enjoy playing.

Stella your recollections remind me of New York's
"Million Dollar Movie" which featured the same movie twice a day for seven days. If the movie was a favorite of mine I would practically watch it all week such as
"Caged" with Eleanor Parker and Hope Emerson.
The theme music was "Tara's Theme" from "Gone with the Wind" which made watching "Million Dollar Movie" more inviting.

ML I read that Shelley Winters book and she sure was hot-to-trot especially with her annual Christmas Eve liaisons with William Holden.
However some of her recollections were in doubt by those in the film colony.
In any event it was still a fun read.

I just saw that TCM added Hope Lange to their "In Memorium" interstitial which I thought was very nice.

I thoroughly read the Dietrich book from cover to cover and although her daughter revealed much about the beauty....I believed it. And between the lines I also detected a strong love for her mother even though she may have been embarrassed by some of her mom's liaisons.

feaito I always read that Universal sacrificed the career of actor George Nader to save Hudson's ****. In fact Hudson remembered Nader in his will.
Also I wouldn't take the books by Crawford and Davis' daughters too seriously either.

I am one of those interested since I liked Hope Lange.
She had a refreshing approach to acting and a pretty face
especially in "Bus Stop" (where I believe she and actor/husband Don Murray met), "The Best of Everything", "Peyton Place" (Oscar nominee), "Pocketful of Miracles", "Death Wish" etc.
I recently posted her birthday on the Happy Birthday thread and thought about how charming she was on the TV series "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir".
I for one will miss this lovely blonde actress.

Sandy you hit the jackpot. The film isn't a classic however the performances of Jack Nicholson and especially Meryl Streep are outstanding. Congratulations!
It's your turn.
