In looking back some 40+ years ago there are some Best Picture Oscar nominees that I'm in doubt about including
"Lawrence of Arabia" (won), "America, America", "Cleopatra" (with La Liz), "Darling", "Ship of Fools" "A Thousand Clowns", "Room at the Top", "Around the World in 80 Days" (won), "Three Coins in the Fountain", "Julius Caesar", "Ivanhoe" etc. More than half of these films are seldom mentioned and or seen today.
And I still can't figure out what all the fuss is about with "Citizen Kane".

Finally...feaito answered it. I never saw either version
of the movie and I guess thats why I was in the dark.
By the way feaito Janet Gaynor WON the Oscar for "7th Heaven".

feaito regarding the movie "The Most Dangerous Game" did you know that some of the sets from "King Kong" were used while the production of that movie was in a lull during production? Also the sets of "Bird of Paradise" which starred McCrea. And actor Noble Johnson who played the native chief in "King Kong" was in "The Most Dangerous Game" too. Very interesting.
