This is just an idea and I don't want members to be offended by this post.
Why don't we include a few new topics here on the Trivia thread titled "conferences and "disputes" whereas we don't interrupt the actual subject of Trivia which this is all about. Today I actually forgot the question that coffeedan posted due to the conference inbetween the eventual guesses.
Who knows? The new topics could be popular.

It's apparent that we are not the only fans of Miriam Hopkins since prestigeous director William Wyler used her in five of his films which she fared in very well.
He also was fond of Bette Davis as an actress and they had an affair after hours.
Hollywood was just grand in those days.

"West Side Story"?

"East of Eden"?

I happen to think that Grace Kelly is not only glamourous
but also talented. She was outstanding as a plain Jane in "The Country Girl" for which she won an Oscar. Also her supporting role in "Mogambo" was very good.
Actually she would appear in a handful of fims before she retired including "High Society", "Dial M for Murder", "Rear Window" (a favorite), "Green Fire" among others hardly enough to judge her full potential.

Addition:
Just can't forget the dynamic Bette Midler who is 58 today. Oscar nominee for "The Rose" and "For the Boys".

Sorry, after I reread the question I realized it is another of TCMs fine intros prior to the start of the movie.
I would say it takes place in the 1930s or 1940s and I believe you can use your imagination. is she dressing? Or Undressing? Is she going to take a nap? Or is she getting ready for a date? Perhaps she is having company soon? What do you think?
In any event it is a wonderful intro with a great soundtrack that has been discussed on the boards in the past.

gnfoshay your question has been asked many times on the boards. From what I understand the scene with the people in the tenement windows while a train passes by is from the movie "Somebody Up There Likes Me" with Paul Newman.

Did anyone list "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn"? That film always pulls at the heartstrings and tearducts.

By the way classicsfan the gentle giant was named John Coffey ("just like coffee but spelled differently"). He was superior and I myself shed tears for this man.
