    Supporting actor/producer Dick Clark is 74. In films of the 1960s "The Young Doctors", "Because They're Young" etc. Host of TVs "American Bandstand" he looks forever young.

    Leading actress/co-star Virginia Mayo is 83 today. in films since the 1940s supported Danny Kaye in a few that were in gorgeous Technicolor. Had best parts in "The Best Years of Our Lives" and as Cagney's wife in "White Heat".

    Was married to actor Michael O'Shea.

    Co-star/supporting actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr. is 85. Was in "House of Strangers" with Edward G., "Band of Angels" with Gable, "By Love Possessed" with Lana, "Wait Until Dark" with Hepburn. Also did some TV series.

    Co-star/supporting actor Richard Crenna (76) 1926-2003.

    Character actor John Alexander (84) 1897-1982. He yelled C-H-A-R-G-E! as he ran up the stairs in "Arcenic and Old Lace". Also in "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" and "Mr. Skeffington" with Davis.

    Co-star/ stuntman Yakima Canutt (89) 1896-1986. Was the best stuntman in Hollywood winning a special Oscar in 1966. Doubled for Wayne, Gable, etc.

    Director/choreographer Busby Berkeley (80) 1895-1976.

    Was the best musical director to come out of Hollywood.

    He did magic with "42nd. Street" and many others. Worked with Garland, Rooney, Miranda etc. etc.

    In 1935 he caused a fatal accident, killing three people,

    while drinking and driving. Of course the golden boy eventually got away with the crime.

  4. classicsfan I'm also fond of Anne Bancroft. She is indeed a fine actress and most versatile.

    She has been featured in some very good films "84 Charing Cross Road", "The Turning Point", "The Pumpkin Eater", "The Graduate" "Fatso" (also directed it), "Agnes of God" and os course her Oscar win in "The Miracle Worker" among others.

    She has been appearing in supporting roles lately as in the remake of "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone" in which she is grand.

    Let's hear it for Annie.

    Supporting actress Gloria Winters is 71. Mostly in "B" films of the 1950s "Hot Rod" and "Hold That Line" with the Bowery Boys. She was a cutie pie as Penny in the "Sky King" TV series.

    Lead/co-star Hope Lange is 72. Oscar nominee for "Peyton Place" also in "Bus Stop" with Monroe, "The Best of Everything" and "Death Wish" with Bronson. Was charming in the TV series "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". Was married to actor Don Murray.
