Those are some very good peeves.
One of mine has always been when the "stars" sit down to eat and all the food looks inviting and all of a sudden someone puts a few peas on their fork and pretends to chew throughout the scene. Ugh. Even the male actors took a nibble out of a sandwich instead of a healthy bite.
Movie goers of the Depression whould have scoffed that sandwich down with two bites.
Another peeve is cigarette smoking. If your holding a cigarette for crying out loud smoke it. There are those that take a weak drag, don't inhale and just blow the smoke out (how phoney).
I'll be back with a few more...I'm sure.

HERE I AM! Finally made it back in. I couldn't imagine what went wrong here. It seemed like an espionage caper from a Warner Brothers movie especially when it read "Operation Aborted". Ugh.
In any event I will be posting the birthday's from the last 3 days as to be fair to those stars.
Missed you guys.

I too enjoy some of the films starring Miriam Hopkins.
She was indeed a good actress and added zest to such movies as "These Three", "The Heiress", "Old Aquaintance",
"The Children's Hour" and "The Old Maid".
Also I don't believe that Bette Davis was the easiest person (star) to get along with.

minnow for your information Anna Magnani WON the Oscar as Best Actress in "The Rose Tattoo" (1955). I believe all bets were on Susan Hayward that year for "I'll Cry Tomorrow" (in which she did her own singing).
Magnani was just wonderful in "The Rose Tattoo" and Hayward would eventually win for "I Want to Live" (1958).
All's well that end's well.
