  1. >>>But when will tcm aire 10 North Fredrick Street? I think he was great in that film.<<<

Hi Leo! I do hope TCM can air this movie, because I'm always going on about what a great performance Gary gives as "Joe Chapin".

  2. I hope everyone had an enjoyable, long weekend! :)

    >>>Maybe it's just me, but Robert Preston's characters always seems a bit like they'd prefer to end up with another man instead of the female lead<<<

Ha ha ha! Lamarr, you started my week off with a big giggle there. ;) I'm afraid that's my feeling, too, especially in NWMP.

  3. Hi Angie---that sounds like it might have been fun to visit that museum. I love Gary's character in NWMP but I have always been perplexed why deMille gave him the decidedly secondary role, who horror of horrors, does NOT get the girl. I found that totally unbelievable and unacceptable back even when I was *not* a Gary Cooper fan. :P

BTW, in NWMP he has my favorite character name in all his movies----"Dusty Rivers".

  4. I've never seen any of those--- *great* finds, Angie! I love the one from Ten North Frederick with the "floozie" actress, Barbara Nichols...the look he's giving her is hilarious. And there he is in an ad for RC! I remember that cola was so popular with my cousins who lived in North Texas and then moved to Oklahoma. They loved RC and I was never allowed to drink soda at home so it was a treat for me to visit them and share their RC's and Dr. Peppers, lol. The silly pleasures of childhood.

Of course, the sepia tint pix are the loveliest....

  5. Yes, that's her! Thank you for posting the picture. If I were to style my hair like that we would look like sisters, not exactly "twins" and I have green eyes and hers are blue. I always feel funny watching her in movies because it's almost like seeing myself in a way. It's odd to say the least, hee! I guess I should say she could be my Mother because she is alot older, LOL. I wonder if she's still alive...I'll have to google and find out.

Are any of you having trouble posting replies? I thought this would have been cleared up by now but this board is still giving me problems.

  6. That's actually fascinating that you actually found your "twin"---I still haven't though once or twice in my life people have told me the saw someone, usually on TV or in a magazine, that they thought looked just like me but I only saw slight resemblences. One of the closest, though, enough that we could be sisters, is Carole Lynley, who you may have seen if you ever watch movies/tv shows from the late fifties on. It's kind of weird to look at someone who resembles you closely, so I know how you must have felt when you saw that magazine!
