I hope everyone had an enjoyable, long weekend!

>>>Maybe it's just me, but Robert Preston's characters always seems a bit like they'd prefer to end up with another man instead of the female lead<<<
Ha ha ha! Lamarr, you started my week off with a big giggle there.
I'm afraid that's my feeling, too, especially in NWMP. -
Hi Angie---that sounds like it might have been fun to visit that museum. I love Gary's character in NWMP but I have always been perplexed why deMille gave him the decidedly secondary role, who horror of horrors, does NOT get the girl. I found that totally unbelievable and unacceptable back even when I was *not* a Gary Cooper fan.

BTW, in NWMP he has my favorite character name in all his movies----"Dusty Rivers".

This one is my favorite, but I'm not sure what movie it's from...it looks rather "gothic"...

You may be right about the *Operator 13* picture, it looked unfamiliar to me too. But get that wig she's wearing, what a joke for a civil war era movie!

Time for some new Linda pictures...

I've never seen any of those--- *great* finds, Angie! I love the one from Ten North Frederick with the "floozie" actress, Barbara Nichols...the look he's giving her is hilarious. And there he is in an ad for RC! I remember that cola was so popular with my cousins who lived in North Texas and then moved to Oklahoma. They loved RC and I was never allowed to drink soda at home so it was a treat for me to visit them and share their RC's and Dr. Peppers, lol. The silly pleasures of childhood.
Of course, the sepia tint pix are the loveliest....

I posted this one over in the Gene Tierney thread but it is worth of duplicating. Here is a candidate for the best looking couple in Hollywood, hee!

Yes, that's her! Thank you for posting the picture. If I were to style my hair like that we would look like sisters, not exactly "twins" and I have green eyes and hers are blue. I always feel funny watching her in movies because it's almost like seeing myself in a way. It's odd to say the least, hee! I guess I should say she could be my Mother because she is alot older, LOL. I wonder if she's still alive...I'll have to google and find out.
Are any of you having trouble posting replies? I thought this would have been cleared up by now but this board is still giving me problems.

That's actually fascinating that you actually found your "twin"---I still haven't though once or twice in my life people have told me the saw someone, usually on TV or in a magazine, that they thought looked just like me but I only saw slight resemblences. One of the closest, though, enough that we could be sisters, is Carole Lynley, who you may have seen if you ever watch movies/tv shows from the late fifties on. It's kind of weird to look at someone who resembles you closely, so I know how you must have felt when you saw that magazine!

There is an astonishing resemblence in the photo to Gary! I thought it was him at first! They say everyone has a "twin" somewhere in the world, too bad we can't find one in our day, ha!

FG----maybe if you edited them and inserted the greater and less-than brackets before and after the URL tags, they would show up. I don't know why this has happened and I hope the DO fix it.

>>>But when will tcm aire 10 North Fredrick Street? I think he was great in that film.<<<
Hi Leo! I do hope TCM can air this movie, because I'm always going on about what a great performance Gary gives as "Joe Chapin".
