  1. September looks like it's going to be great! I was so happy to see that they'll be playing The Great Mcginty on the 24th! Yay! I love this movie.
  2. Great stills! I absolutely love this movie, and I've only seen it once! I saw it for the first time on TCM about two years ago I would say. I really wish TCM would play it again, because I can't get it from a library or anything.
  3. I've only seen Vic Morrow in a few things, but I agree that he does play the 'bad guy' very well. Very convincing.
  4. My favorite "gangster" would have to be James Cagney. Pretty typical, but I can't help it, he's so good. Lee Marvin is definitely my favorite "thug." I've got this thing for him....I love his style.
  5. Hmmm...probably "Roman Holiday," but "Gone with the Wind" would be quite a possibilty as well.
  6. Oh yeah! I totally forgot about "The Miracle Worker." For me, I'm more amazed with Patty Duke's performance. She absolutely blows me away. I don't know...I think I may have liked Bancroft better in like "The Pumpkin Eater" or something. However, she's still excellent in "The Miracle Worker." Lol! I can spot Lee Marvin anytime, even in the smallest of roles. He's so different, and that voice.....you definitely can't mistake his voice for anyone else's. It's awesome.
  7. Wow!! June is going to be awesome! They're playing so many great films...wow...I can't wait!

Lol! Sorry. When you've seen so many classic films, it's sometimes hard to keep all the character's names straight. That's all I'll list for now, but there's plenty more.
  9. Olivia. She's much better then her sister. Personally, I really don't think Joan had much talent at all. I didn't know about Olivia taking care of Joan's daughter. Wow....it makes me love Olivia all the more. I knew that Joan had an adopted daughter, I just didn't know of Olivia taking her in and all.
  10. Definitely actress because I love to act, but my second choice would either be director or screenwriter.
  11. Steve McQueen, Dean Martin, Gary Cooper...lol...I was so smitten with them. Wait.....I still am.
  12. I'm not a big fan of either, especially Charlton Heston. Therefore, I'd have to go with Burt Lancaster.
  13. Probably the little town in "To Kill a Mockingbird." Or...."The Ghost and Mrs. Muir." I love that house!
  14. Bette Davis & Paul Henreid - Now, Voyager (just got this on DVD. Yay!!) Susan Hayward & Dana Andrews - My Foolish Heart Rex Harrison & Gene Tierney - The Ghost and Mrs. Muir Marlene Dietrich & Jimmy Stewart - Destry Rides Again Bette Davis & Charles Boyar - All This, And Heaven Too

  16. In my opinion, it's not a classic if it's made after 1979. So, yeah, I don't consider "Emma" to be a classic film. But people might tend to call it a classic because they think it's a really good movie. People tend to say about great movies, whether they're old or new, "that movie is such a classic!". I, personally, don't like that fact that TCM has started adding such newer films to it's schedule such as "Emma." In fact, I absolutely hate it. We can watch the newer films, like "Emma" on any other channel, so I don't get why TCM has to play them. TCM should be a channel reserved for all the wonderful films from the golden era. From the earliest short films up until 1979. Anyhow, that's just my humble opinion. Lol.
  17. 1. Bette Davis The rest in no particular order. 2. Norma Shearer 3. Olivia de Havilland 4. Greer Garson 5. Susan Hayward 6. Irene Dunne 7. Claudette Colbert 8. Joan Crawford 9. Thelma Ritter 10. Eleanor Parker 11. Ingrid Bergman 12. Shelley Winters 13. Barbara Stanwyck 14. Myrna Loy 15. Lee Remick Honorable Mentions: Ida Lupino Anne Bancroft Ann Sheridan Judy Garland I know I'm forgetting others. There's so many good ones that it's kinda hard to keep them all straight.
  18. I was quite blown away the first time I watched this movie. I thought it was great. At first I was a little uneasy about Brando being a German...a blonde-headed German that is. However, once he appeared and spoke in the film I completely fell in love with his character. I agree about Dean Martin. I thought he did a great job. Good ol' Dino...my love. That's another reason why I loved the movie so much. Anyway, it's a great war film, one of my personal favorites anyway. ~Topsey
  19. Jimmy Cagney is favorite actor of all time!! Nobody can compare to him. I've already seen "These Wilder Years" and yes, it's a great movie. Both he and Barbara Stanwyck are fantastic. I love Cagney so much. Despite how short he is, he's always so intimidating, tough, strong and such a smart-alec! And...he throws the BEST punches! :-D Lol. He's definitely the best!
  20. I'm going to have to list a little more then ten I'm afraid. Lol. None of the films below are listed in any particular order, except for the first one. The first is my favorite. 1.) Stalag 17 2.) Mister Roberts 3.) The Patriot 4.) All Quiet on the Western Front 5.) The Young Lions 6.) The Great Escape 7.) Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo 8.) The Dirty Dozen 9.) The Purple Heart 10.) The Bridge on the River Kwai 11.) Rio Grande 12.) Von Ryan's Express 13.) For Whom the Bell Tolls 14.) Gone with the Wind 15.) The Enemy Below And plenty more! ~Topsey
  21. Thank you so much for sharing that clip, Gregory! There was nothing wrong with the link, it worked just fine. I absolutely loved it. Topsey
