  1. > Can anyone tell me how TCM adjusts for Daylight > Savings TIme which takes place later tonight? Thank > you in advance. "Warped Speed"
  2. > LOL.............. you're silly. How can you not like > Its A Wonderful Life, you snapperhead! Such a warm > fuzzy movie. The angel Clarence is so funny. I did like the sequel "It's A Pretty Good Life" better, it was more realistic with George's wife divorcing him and running away with the milkman! By the way I have a patent on the term "Snapperhead" and I use it for Dick Cavett. Stop stealing my material who do you think you are Milton Berle?
  3. Am I pestering people? I did say I did like two movies "A Christmas Carol" ( 1951 version) and " A Christmas Story" (The Red Ryder BB Gun), but stated my opinion that "It's A Wonderful Life" is full of it! That the world is not as depicted in that movie and why were they singing "Auld Lang Syne" for Christmas Day? I thought that song was reserved for New Years Eve. They should have been singing "Grandma got Killed by a Reindeer" for Christmas Day. So you see there are many misgivings in that movie. The Bank examiner giving money? Not even if they spiked the egg nog would he throw a penny into the kitty. All those people in his house while it was snowing outside? Who's going to clean the carpet Donna Reed? See the whole movie is full of gaps and that's why I think it's "BS" Ho! Ho! Ho!
  4. > Aftermath: > > The fact that "It's A Wonderful Life" could not > happen in this world is part of its charm. The chance > that it might happen is why people love it. > > Chris And if you pull my left leg you'll hear "Jingle Bells"
  5. As Rodney Dangerfield once said..."When I was a kid no one liked me thank God I was Born a Boy so I Played with Myself"
  6. Bill Paxton / Twister ..... By George I got it! Aftermath
  7. Is there any thread where there is not a fight going on? I feel like I'm watching a marathon of the "Golden Gloves" Good Lord! .....An after-thought from aftermath HEY MONGO!!!!! I enjoy your "Happy Birthday" thread and hope you continue to do the great job you've been doing. This is one of the first threads I read when I first sign on for the day. Good Work!! There are many who appreciate your efforts, and I am carrying the banner in the "Hooray for MONGO" parade! Aftermath
  8. > Charles Bronson /The Great Escape Steve McQueen / The Magnificent Seven
  9. > "I have personally observed that in time of need > friends "Head for the Hills" and do not get involved > when a helping hand is needed." > > Sorry to hear it, but want to point out that those > aren't "friends"... friends do stay and help > out. They're rare, but invaluable. I guess I don't have any friends than. Just acquaintance's because my "Friends" believe "A friend in need is Trouble"
  10. I've been gone all day and have to tell you all I read all of the responses and laughed so hard I **** in my pants. I'll send you all a swatch as a remembrance. LOL and a VERY BIG SMILE!
  11. I second that. The topic is Dick Cavett the "Snapperhead" Sucks! If you can't follow that than get a guide to help you on the tour of these threads! Lorenzo! Aftermath
  12. > I know that Jimmy Stewart was in After the Thin Man. > These are the first three of the chain from pg 1 > It's a Wonderful Life/James Stewart > After the Thin Man /William Powell > My Man Godfrey/Carole Lombard > These are the first three in order. The way you are > playing right now William Powell would have to have > been in It's a Wonderful Life. Carole Lombard was not > in After the Thin Man so how could she be next in the > chain. It is the actor or actress that is the > determining factor . I don't want to see this chain > die so I implore everyone to go back to the first > page and really look at how the game is played. > The Defense Rest. Can I be your "Key Witness"? Everyone was "grilling" me about it with my "Joseph Cotton" reply to Barabara Stanwyck's "Sorry Wrong Number"! Well I think I did punch in the wrong number as far as other's are concerned! Never-the-less "United We Stand"! Hey Bob Hope Fan! What the hell were you thinking of when you created this monster?
  13. > Have you seen One Magic Christmas? It's been so long > since they've aired it, but I think it was a very > good Christmas movie. No I haven't...but usually we agree on most topics, so I'll get a copy of it and give it a try.
  14. Glad to see were on the same wave-length when it comes to King and Cavett. These two should interview each other what a thought that is! Robert Osborne as I said is a professional and I have learned to appreciate him more and more each time I see a bad interview conducted by "Ying & Yang" (Cavett & King). He has great questions, makes his guests comfortable and let's them finish a sentence (Story) without interrupting them with needless jokes or sarcasm which Cavett especially seem to excel in. I don't know how many times he asked a question to Hepburn (Many) and she said either "No" or "That wasn't me". He would reply "Oh! I thought".......That's his trouble stoneyburke he thinks and talks too much without any idea of the subject because he didn't do his research like Robert Osborne does. In other words stoneyburke Dick Cavett is the ultimate "Snapperhead". Aftermath
  15. Just Two! 1951's " A Chistmas Carol" with Alastair Sim and 1983's Jean Shepherd's "A Christmas Story". Sorry "It's A Wonderful Life" could not possibly happen in this rotten world! I have personally observed that in time of need friends "Head for the Hills" and do not get involved when a helping hand is needed. To me "A Wonderful Life " is full of "Wonderful BS"! Could you picture the "IRS" dropping a Quarter into the kitty to help out? Ho! Ho! Ho! In today's world George Bailey would have been taken in handcuffs to the police station and rubber hosed for embezzling the bank's money! Ho! Ho! Ho! Aftermath
  16. One of my all time favorites, "Twelve Angry Men"!. It depicts every type of personality that's out there in the real world. It shows the courage that one man has to stand alone in his conviction against eleven, who badger and ridicule him at the offset. It shows his slowly turning their thinking around by examining the facts of the trial. It has all the characters we meet in life...a sports fanatic( Warden)...a racist (Begley)...a fact man(Marshall)....a father who failed in his relationship with his son(Cobb).....a underprivileged childhood(Klugman)..an insecure ad-man(Webber)...an average Joe assistant football coach teacher(Balsam) etc. I am talking about the Henry Fonda version made in 1957, which by the way he produced brilliantly. It was included in the thread I replied to in most watched movies. I could watch this movie ten times a day and never tire of it! It is an "Excellent Classic".
  17. This thread is turning into a nightmare for me . I am going to join a monastery and hide out from the world!
  18. It would be all right than if Cavett would ask what hand do you use to clean yourself after taking a dump? I think his asking Hepburn if they were her real teeth was way out of line and very unprofessional. What's next with this jerk, what product do you use to **** with? "Did you ever do a herring commercial?" " Do you use a **** or foam when making love?" I can't see Robert Osborne asking these types of questions because he does his homework before the interview starts. I believe that's why Cavett succeeded in failing to keep a constant show on the air and was canceled even on PBS, simply because he is a pompous ill informed ****. Larry King the other yokel looks like Mike Wallace compared to the inept Dick Cavett. Sure he got the big name stars on because they knew he didn't have it in him to conduct an in depth interview, that he try's to make funny comments while his guest are trying to tell a story. That was very distracting to me in the middle of a story you would hear Cavett trying to interrupt with a stupid comment or an off the wall follow up question. Hey Dick! Let your guest's talk...we tune in for them not for you! "You Snapperhead" !
