  1. Yes I have seen most of A & C movies including the two you mentioned. There "Who's on First?" routine in the "Naughty Nineties" movie is posted at Cooperstowns Baseballs hall of fame. I always enjoyed all their movies and the television series that they made in the 1950's. ( Mike the cop - Sydney Fields - "Stinky" etc) They will always be on my list of favorite duo's.

  2. As a lark got a copy of Abbot and Costello's rarely seen movie vintage 1941 "Hold that Ghost" and really enjoyed this vintage film. It also had Joan Davis , Richard Carlson and the Andrew Sisters in it. What a treat it is to watch the routines of this twosome and a pretty good plot involved in the actual story. At the end of the movie I realized that this movie although made 65 years ago still held up even though a bit dated but just as funny as the day it was released in the movie houses.

  3. I think Joseph Cotten and Trevor Howard were a great combination of the characters played in The Third Man. Although Welles had a smaller part than his usual starring roles, he was far superior with his performance than the dreaded "Touch of Evil" to for me is and will be a nightmare to watch. It's funny how to me Welles either is hit or miss with his movies. The fact that he did not direct this film probably made it better than if he did. I never tire of the movie and sometimes have a surrealistic impression while watching it. A classic in every sense of the word!

  4. At first I didn't think the blend of actors would be as interesting as it turned out. I appreciated Darrell Hickman's and Dickie Moore's candid reply's about who their favorites and not so favorite Hollywood people while being a child star. Jane Withers stories about Shirley Temple were interesting and Margaret O'Brien's insights were just as interesting. Moore's story on DeMille was very revealing as well as Hickman's story on Tierney. Robert Osborne once again proved just what a first rate interviewer should be. He has a way of making his guest's relax and probably reveal more than they intended at the start of the interview. A very good show, and the hour and a half flew by and left me wanting more. I hope to see more of this style of show on TCM in the near future!

  5. I am a James Dean fan and have always thought I was cheated out of a great talent even more so on every anniversary of his death with each passing year. Today the 51st Anniversary of his fatal car crash I wonder what heights he would have achieved if he lived longer. If you like the method actor (i.e.- Brando - Clift - Steiger etc.) you loved James Dean. People who don't like James Dean more than likely do not like the method acting style. Of all the movies made since his death on September 30th, 1955, what movies would have been improved if he starred in them and how many Academy Awards if any would he have secured in his career if he still lived today?

  6. I know it wasn't a great bio-pic but when the narrator in the Babe Ruth Story with William Bendix said about the new serum the Babe was going to have experimented on him for his throat cancer said "That night Babe Ruth hit his sixty-first home run" with the boys choir singing in the background and Babe being wheeled to the operating room always makes the waterworks run full blast for me!

Would you feel the same way if he threw a no-hitter against the Texas Rangers at the Rangers Ballpark in the movie?

That will be the day when Yankee fans cheer for an a Detroit Tiger pitcher to throw a no hitter against there team at Yankee Stadium. I agree about Bull Durham and Field of Dreams but that other one with the no-hitter was a joke!

I think his last good one was Dances with wolves after that all flops beginning with The Bodyguard. He started out strong but faltered at the stretch. Do you agree?
