  1. SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — In the latest move to change place names in light of U.S. racial history, leaders of Orange County’s Democratic Party are pushing to drop film legend John Wayne’s name, statue and other likenesses from the county’s airport because of his racist and bigoted comments. The Los Angeles Times reported that earlier this week, officials passed an emergency resolution condemning Wayne’s “racist and bigoted statements” made in a 1971 interview and are calling on the Orange County Board of Supervisors to drop his name, statue and other likenesses from the international airp

  5. Amid protests over racial injustice and police brutality around the nation, statues that celebrate America's historical figures associated with slavery have come under fire and are being torn down. Mount Rushmore depicts U.S. presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln in huge granite in South Dakota's Black Hills. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were known enslavers. So, when is our woke revisionist priesthood going to insist on blowing up Mount Rushmore?
  6. This one is not only a TCM favorite but a regular showing at Boy Scout meetings… While this one gets routine viewings at Brownie gatherings…
  7. “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid” 1973 is certainly a classic (Kristofferson, Dylan, Coolidge, Robards, Armstrong, Askew, Fix and Pickens) along with “Duck, You Sucker” 1971 as favorite James Colburn films…the makings of a classic “Colburn”double feature. Interesting Colburn note: Because of his severe rheumatoid arthritis, Coburn appeared in very few films during the 1980s, yet he continued working until his death in 2002. This disease had left Coburn's body deformed and in pain. "You start to turn to stone," he told ABC News in an April 1999 interview. "See, my hand is twisted
  8. In support of racial diversity, may it be suggested that Aunt Jamima bee replaced with Aunt... And Uncle Ben be replaced by…Uncle
  9. “Mmm, hi cowboy…how tall are you without your horse?” Well ma’am, I am six feet seven inches. Well, never mind about the six feet, let’s talk about the seven inches.” -Mae West 🌡️
  10. Fear it’s only a matter of time before… …commits suicide.
  11. 130-year old iconic Aunt Jemima victimized by origins of racial stereotyping is forced into retirement - Uncle Ben’s fate questioned.
  12. THE RED SKELTON HOUR 1960 – Before we go any further Ms. West may I feel free to ask you any question at all? “Of course, but please use a little discretion, I understand the censor has a weak heart” – Mae West We’d like to hear about some of the unusual men, the men who were off beat. “Well, a smart girl never beats off any man.” – Mae West
  13. Today’s fetv Green Acres (1969) episode (S4 E17), “Law Partners”…”Tessy’s Taco Parlor, which is only open during picking season when we import our ********” - Mr. Haney Oddly, the missing word created an unintended emphasis as viewers repeatedly rewound the segment searching for clarity and understanding.
  14. We share your TCM “constant annoyances” regarding unreliable scheduling…completely unprofessional and disrespectful to viewers…reliable scheduling should be paramount to programming. Perhaps Charlie Tabesh (22 year veteran of the network) TCM’s programming chief needs to be “woke” up? Reach out and twit ‘em here: https://twitter.com/ctabesh?lang=en 🤘
  15. Stupid question; Shelving Ted “TCM” Turner’s favorite feature because a group of radicals won’t turn the channel? Gone with the Wind is a multi-award winning (8 OSCARS!!!) movie in the most golden year of Hollywood. Liberty is having the ability to make your own choices perhaps having your opinions/views influenced by others but not about having others make their decisions for you, while human “servitude” continues throughout the world as a means of social survival. 🤘
  16. ATLANTA (AP) _ The film classic ″Gone With The Wind″ will run every day in a new movie theater because it’s the favorite movie of the theater’s owner - TV and sports magnate Ted Turner. Turner also happens to be owner of ″Gone With The Wind″ itself; it’s one of the movies in the MGM film library he bought last year. The 1939 film will be shown daily in the CNN Cinema 6, which opens Friday. ″Ted finally has his own theater, and he can show his own favorite movie two times a day, 365 days a year,″ said Alex Swan, a spokesman for Turner Broadcasting System. 📽️
  17. I am drawn to hate, violence and injustice – that’s why I watch TCM. 👅
  18. HBO Max removes classic “Gone with the Wind” due to its “Racist Depictions” as the dismantling of America’s history continues with the beheading of Christopher Columbus in Boston.
  19. Since my recorder doesn’t possess corresponding NOW-THEN-LATER buttons the ending of last evening’s airing of “The Five Pennies” 1959 (I patiently waited over a decade for TCM to air) wasn’t seen this morning as the recorder was set per TCM’s online schedules times, which had no way of adjusting to actual NOW-THEN-LATER airing times…the movie apparently started late and thus ended late, as in, later than the TCM online scheduled times the recorder was set to.
