Thanks for all the replys. I know the blind are quite capable but I was just amazed watching this segment. "Seeing Hands (1943)"

I watched a short segment on TCM this evening that I found amazing if it is true. The segment I think was a filler until the Monday Oct 9th 10pm (Miracle Worker) movie started. The clip featured a man called "Brian Hedwig"?? who lost his sight at a young age. He grew up to work as a skilled woodworker and a machinist during the war (WWII?). How does anybody work around power tools without cutting off fingers? He also had a handy and very smart seeing eye dog. Any body have any details on him?
