  1. Perhaps you were dreaming, getting two different films mixed or maybe just caught up in Ms. Hepburn's brilliant acting. There was no "prequal" to Tennessee Williams's (I think) "Suddenly, Last Summer" (also starring Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift) . The son (though the central character) was already dead in this movie but his mother (Hepburn) gave a very detailed and rather horrid description of their last trip together during which they left their ship and visited the Galapagos Islands to watch the eggs hatch and the hatchlings' race for survival to the ocean.

I saw a more recent period film where some sailors got off their ship and collected specimens on the Galapagos. The name of that film escapes me.

Bottom line, Ms. Hepburn and Robert Wagner never made a film together and neither made a film in which the scene you describe was actually shown. I can think of only one movie of Ms. Hepburn's in which she had a (live) son but that was an earlier film called, "Sea of Grass" with Spencer Tracey.

  2. I thought I'd seen virtually every film ever made at least twice however the only bell this one is ringing was a TV series with Ricardo Montalban and a dwarf saying, "De plane! De plane!".

I do know absolutely for sure that the movie you saw was not "Mr. Hobbs takes a Vacation" which was a light romantic comedy with James Stewart and Maureen O'Hara.

Can you give anymore details about the film, ie., A -list or B, black & white or color, the names of any of the actors?
