Sammy's career suffered after the picture of him hugging Presidential Candidate Richard Nixon was published in all major newspapers.

Usually the movie never stands up to the book. Examples are "Coma" and "The Philadelphia Experiment". The books were so much better than the movies that I felt cheated when the lights came on in the theatre at the end of the movies. I felt like asking for my money back.

the "Leading Men: 50 Unforgettable Actors" book
Bartlett replied to sugarpuss's topic in General Discussions
I really don't need a "50 Unforgettable Actors" book. I can only think of ten worth my while starting with Cagney and ending with Tracy. I'll save my money and buy a classic DVD instead. It's like the top 100 Movies, half of them listed I needed a barf bag to watch. -

Robert Goulet...legend has if whenever Elvis Presley saw him on television he would take out his 45 and shoot the television and say "That's enough of that SH-T! It was rumored that he shot out at least 250+ television whenever he saw Goulet, because he hated Goulet so much. As the matter of fact his "Memphis Mafia" had at least over 100 Televisions secured in a storage room because it was a given that sooner or later Elvis was going to blow away Goulet the moment he saw him on television. It's a good thing they never met in real life, or Goulet would have been "Swiss Cheese"! LOL

Loretta Young for Claudette 'Mini Neck" Colbert in "It Happened One Night". Gable & Young might have had 'twins" instead of a daughter like in "Call of the wild". Guaranteed a sheet would not be separating them when they were going to sleep, we would have seen some real hot action between these two. They couldn't keep their hands off each other! Hot Stuff! .

Hey Mongo I'm having trouble with a word that's usually said to describe food. It's usually said in Westerns and last night as I threw in 7 Brides For Seven Brothers in the VCR it came up again. I don't know if I'm spelling it right, but I looked in the dictionary to find out the origin of the word ( slang) and couldn't seem to find it. The word is "Vittles" (SP?). Now I ask you since you are the question and answer man where did the word come from...who said it first and how do you spell it? This one really bothers me and I would appreciate if you give me any kind of reply. Thanks Mongo! .

> Just pussyfooting around your keyboard, huh? Yes he is a real crazy orange cat, but I love him and his brothers Mojo and Napoleon. (Also male and orange) They are part of the family. I can't imagine life without them. Are you a pet lover? Do you have any you want to brag about?

> But let's not forget that a hustler, Bartlett, is a > slimy creature in real life. I agree but the story showed that Newman did have scruples when he did not accept the money that Vince was trying to give him for throwing the match against him. At that point you realized that Felson had somewhat matured and would not succumb to take the easy money that was offered to him by Vince. Do you agree?

> And, sometimes our troll, Bartlett, reminds me of > Fast Eddie, a Hustler of everybody, but without > Newman's good looks and charm. I think Paul Newman was more suave and street wise in the "Color Of Money" which I enjoyed more than "The Hustler", because of his training "Vince" ( Tom Cruise) in the secrets of becoming a real hustler.

Sorry I had my cat Merlin biting my moving hands with that typing error. Ask BobHopeFan1940. she can verify that I have a cat that likes to bite moving hands as I type as I posted on her Thanksgiving thread the other night. Thank you for pointing it out to me though, he's still biting my hand as I'm typing this! .
