  1. I know it's a newer film but when Matt Dillon hands his winnings from Richard Crenna ( Who cheated in the gin card game) to his friend and fellow co-worker "Magic" and tells him to "Stay away from Yonkers Race Track" was a special moment for me. Because like Dillon said to Crenna "You don't screw your friends Mr. Brody."

I thought Johnny Crawford played Chuck Conners son on "The Rifleman" in the 1950's. Is this the same Crawford your referring to? If so he's a "Son of a Gun".

I'm with you! My favorite James Stewart movie is "The Spirit of St. Louis". He was on screen alone for almost half the movie in his airplane and had you on the edge of your seat with his portrayal of Charles Lindbergh. I saw it as a child in the movie and was yelling for him to wake up when he was falling asleep. My friends thought it was funny and the rest of the day were yelling at me to wake up. I learned to appreciate Mr. Stewart even more as I grew older. He had a flair for comedy, dramatic movies, westerns, you name it he was the perfect actor. He is in my top 5 favorite actors.

  4. I saw on HBO "On Demand", a great boxing movie called "Cinderella Man" ,with Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger and Paul Giamatti. This movie dealt with how hard life was for boxing great James J. Braddock during the great depression. It had great boxing scenes but was much more than boxing. The fact that it is a true story makes it more intriguing. Zellweger was excellent portraying Braddock's wife and the heartaches she suffered between the depression, her children's welfare and the fear that Braddock would get seriously hurt in one of his bouts. A fine performance by Giamatti who I only remember in Howard Stern's "Private Parts". Russell Crowe ( I never liked him) was spectacular in his portrayal of Braddock and because of his performance has changed my view on his acting abilities. This film is great for boxing fans but also for the little people because Braddock was known as "The Peoples Champion". After watching this film you will understand why. A VERY BIG THUMBS UP...A FOUR STAR....DOOR BUSTING.....CHAMPION of a movie. Made in 2005 it is a "CLASSIC".

  5. Usually the movie never stands up to the book. Examples are "Coma" and "The Philadelphia Experiment". The books were so much better than the movies that I felt cheated when the lights came on in the theatre at the end of the movies. I felt like asking for my money back.

  6. Robert Goulet...legend has if whenever Elvis Presley saw him on television he would take out his 45 and shoot the television and say "That's enough of that SH-T! It was rumored that he shot out at least 250+ television whenever he saw Goulet, because he hated Goulet so much. As the matter of fact his "Memphis Mafia" had at least over 100 Televisions secured in a storage room because it was a given that sooner or later Elvis was going to blow away Goulet the moment he saw him on television. It's a good thing they never met in real life, or Goulet would have been "Swiss Cheese"! LOL

  7. Loretta Young for Claudette 'Mini Neck" Colbert in "It Happened One Night". Gable & Young might have had 'twins" instead of a daughter like in "Call of the wild". Guaranteed a sheet would not be separating them when they were going to sleep, we would have seen some real hot action between these two. They couldn't keep their hands off each other! Hot Stuff!
