Not your favorite, but the best movie ever made...

King Kong ( 1933 ). The two remakes in 1976 and 2005 both sucked compared to the original ! Bartlett -
> I don't see it as a rip-off of Scorsese at all; Well let's agree to disagree because I don't want to get involved with a drag out dirty arguement like you participated in WOTW. "Different Strokes for Different Folks" I respect your opinion and I expect the same courtesey if it is in you. Bartlett

Pulp fiction is obviously a rip-off of 1973's Martin Scorcese's "Mean Streets". Fat John Travolta was out of place and looked like a dancing bear in the "Twist Contest". A far cry from his solo dance to the song of the Bee Gees "You should be Dancing", in "Saturday Night Fever" **** love in the basement of a hock shop with a masked deviant that was locked in a trunk was a thrill. Something I'm sure that happens everyday. The only thing I enjoyed was the song "Son Of A Preacher Man" by "Dusty Springfield" But " Atlantis the Lost Continent, Way Down Upon the Ocean" ( Donovan) while DeNiro & Pesci were stomping their victim was more gritty and realistic in "Goodfellas". That's my opinion and no need to convince me otherwise as I have tried to give this movie ( Pulp Fiction) another shot "Five" times with the same conclusion! Bartlett

I love the new promo that's being shown on TCM for "Mad Mad Mad World." The consensus were all positive between the following participants in this classic movie: Sid Caesar Jonathan Winters Edie Adams Peter Falk Don Knots & Marvin Kaplan ( Gas Station attendant with Arnold Stang) who described this movie as a "Time Capsule", with an ensemble that represents all the popular comedians still living in 1963, was historic and "A Very Funny Movie". I said it before this film is a "Historic" tribute of the funny men who not only starred in 1963, but were also pioneers in silent movies! ( i.e. Ben Blue....Buster Keaton etc.) I really believe that there is a small minority that do not like this film. ( It's there right of course which I will defend ) But also accept the right of the majority of us who absolutely love this film! There is nothing like the "Big W"! Bartlett

I was just asking an a honest question on the term, and expected an informative answer not a smart butt remark! Obviously your reply was a "9 1/2 on the 10 stress scale". You obviously read my post the wrong way, and shot from the hip. Your going to fit right in here specifically on the arguments that are saturated in various threads. I am not apprecaitive of your remark about living in a cave which you rudely inquired. Welcome to the Board you are going to fit right in the disruptive threads with your attitude! Bartlett

On a happier note, when the doctor tells Glenn Ford and Anne Francis that their baby is going to live and says "Happy New Year", and clicks on the radio in "The Blackboard Jungle". Bartlett

I think you have better luck trying to find "The Holy Grail" or "The Golden Fleece" than finding an original uncut film. An example in 1990, I paid around $100. to get "The Godfather Epic", on VHS with its added scenes, only to find out that a scene or two was cut from the Godfather 2 in the epic version. Then NBC has a Coppola "uncut" version that has about an additional hours worth of scenes to my dismay when I watch the broadcast. Of course they cut violent scenes (Sonny's death) in the broadcast. Also I have a DVD of Mad Mad World and watched TCM's broadcast of it last week, and noticed a few scenes that were cut from the DVD. I think its easier to tie a bow to a lightning bolt than to get a complete uncut version of a movie!.........Also nice name "Boompa" wasn't that from Mr. Hobbs takes a Vacation? In my opinion, Mad Mad Mad Mad World is about "Greed". One of the seven deadly sins as indicated in the Bible. "Greed" has been around as long as man! Prehistoric and modern alike, but in this movie it is treated in a very funny way. It's one of my favorites, but I can understand why others don't like it. "Different Strokes for Different Folks"!

> how can you not love this movie? It's a > riot from beginning to end! :-) I agree, it's also a historic and classic masterpiece! A large slice of what made America funny ranging from Jimmy Durante and Buster Keaton to Sid Caesar and Mickey Rooney and tons of other talented comedians.

Maybe this in "Adams Rib", Tracy called Hepburn "Pinkie" and Hepburn called Tracy "Pinky"? Bartlett

It's been over 24 hours since a response so I will give an additional clue as to who the 45 year old actor was who's career was curtailed as a result of his trying to date 16 year old Tuesday Weld. He was married to a famous actress who was the sister of a famous game show host.

I just deal with the facts Fred ....just the facts! Dum Dum Dum Dum!!
