  1. miss wonderly, i read your review of Where Danger Lives and i'd like to offer another view if i may. Firstly, it's fine if WDL fell flat for you, glad you gave your honest opinion. For me, i've always loved this film, and usually get excited and record it when TCM trots it out. The story is so dark, moody, and intriguing to me. Then again, i love most left-of-center noirs that most folks don't like: The Two Mrs. Carrolls, Dishonored Lady, Las Vegas Story, ... I like Mitchum in this, really enjoy Claude Rains in anything. But I LOVE to gawk at Faith Domergue in WDL, she is so gorgeous t

  3. I'm with you on that. It's a lot of fun to be transported to another era of pirates and treasure and the like. I love old escapist films especially Maria Montez movies. So much fun to be had. I feel like i'm stuck on the ship/island with these actors and foaming at the mouth over buried treasure. I hope more of this type will come out on dvd.
  4. I really enjoyed Fair Wind To Java with Fred MacMurray, Vera Ralston, Victor McLaglen, Robert Douglas, and Claude Jarman, jr. It was wild and fun. I also enjoyed : Blackbeard, The Pirate: robert newton, linda darnell, keith andes Yankee Buccaneer: jeff chandler, suzan ball Fortunes Of Captain Blood: louis hayward, patricia medina Hurricane Smith: john ireland, yvonne decarlo
  5. I love this movie. I felt like i was lost out in the mexican desert with them. Great cast of pros, but Rita was so good in this. I could listen to Rita's speaking voice all day long.
  6. Try to catch In A Lonely Place when TCM shows it next. Gloria really holds her own against Bogart and Gloria made the film more palatable/enjoyable for me as i prefer Cagney, Raft, or Robinson to mr. bogart. Also check out The Cobweb, as i believe Gloria has a large role in it. And don't forget Not As A Stranger which GG is in with Mitchum, de Havilland, and Sinatra.
  7. Veronica is the bomb! The essence of glamour with her hair obscuring one eye. Her look and her voice were great for the movies. I wish she had made more films. I hope that someday TCM acquires the rights to show more of her films. Veronica is so great; she is one of my three favorite classic movie blondes along with Lana and Mae.
  8. Sign me up, please. Loved Joan in Three On A Match, The Opposite Sex, Two Girls On Broadway, and the movie that made me fall in love with JB: Cry Havoc. She is beautiful and talented and excels in many film genres.
  9. Robert Ryan is really good in this, but did you see Rhonda Fleming?? What a great-looking gal. I wish Robert Osborne would corral Rhonda for a Private Screenings. It seems like Rhonda worked with half of Hollywood at one time or another.
  10. Abandon Ship, Distant Drums, Garden Of Evil, Flight To Tangier, Trader Horn, Tarzan Movies, Flame Of Araby, At Sword's Point, River Of No Return, Charge At Feather River, Appointment In Honduras, Westward The Women, Back From Eternity, China, ...
