SueSue - I can't believe how good Ernest Borgnine looks - thanks for that link.
Does anyone know the dates of the Festival next year, yet? It will be in Hollywood again, no?

I think it's time for a Ben Johnson night. Make that Ben Johnson day and night.

Ogg and Zogg are a frightful pair!

Robert Morse is a one of a kind talent. I think he could have gone on a lot longer with the stories last night. Here is a favorite clip that I posted in Musicals a while back -

Yeah, but that photo is probably for another thread - she most likely didn't have Big Hair there!

mongo - that photo took me back to Ingrid Bergman's autobiography "My Story". It describes the "Alvin Gang" who waited at the airport all night for her plane to arrive. They were a group of teenage fans who would wait for Ingrid to come out the stage door at the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre) after playing Joan of Lorraine in 1946. When she returned to the U.S., they were there to greet her.

*$5 a ticket????* That's got to be the best deal going! This is one time I wish I lived in LA.

*Ann-Margret, big beautiful hair anytime, anywhere*

star - I knew there was someone else out there who appreciated these two - it's not an ad but here goes

fredb - Sorry, I didn't know that - I don't know anything about Mr. Russell. But Peter Brown is still with us. Those cigarettes are killers, any way you look at them.

Renee - Please let us know of any progress being made on the overhaul of the Code of Conduct. Have you received a response? Who is working on it? If it would help, I would be happy to share my views with them. Or, better yet, please have them read this thread. This subject needs attention.
Thank you, cinemafan

Lucky you!!! We'll be waiting for the report.

*How about Linda Darnell* - Sorry, I got carried away with the pics - she's just too lovely to pass up. Again - her beautiful hair luxuriantly arranged on top.

FredC, we talked about this a bit in this thread. Race and Hollywood - Native Americans

I liked *Thunderheart* a lot.

lz - I deliberately made the picture small, so as not to overwhelm the thread. I'm so glad that you recognized it, and provided that info on Mary Blair. I was not aware of her, I just knew that I loved the pictures in that book. I have a newer version, but the older one is my favorite. I've kept the books long after the child I read them to has outgrown them.
Kyle - what a turn your thread has taken! (Thanks.)

Well, it's not that I'm not as sharp on a Sunday afternoon, but it took me a while to figure this one out!
You can't tell me that TCM programming isn't looking at all the clever ideas that come up in the Program Challenge.
"Starring Terry" - I had no idea Terry had all these credits!
-
Kyle, I love the movie and I love this poster. The drawings around the border are very '50's and remind me (again with the books) of some drawings in some older Little Golden Books that I have.like this one -

hope you don't mind my visual.
-
JackF - She looked and sounded good this morning on TCM!
You know what I notice most about vintage attire in these ads and in mongo's photos? The shoes! Some look so stylish and comfy. Comfort is where it's at in shoes, and if they look good - way better.
-
filmlover - growing up with 4 older brothers, I was able to read their MAD magazines, and one of my favorite parts was their movie parodies.

I am even going to watch *The Wild Bunch* for the first time, coming up in August. Lots of my favorites in that one.
