The ad didn't say that Gary Cooper would actually be there, but I'm sure some folks were disappointed. Here's some more info obtained from a website "Montana Railroad History" - There's probably still some people who go to this town looking for him. "Gary ? A village in Cascade County, Montana. This place was originally named Sunnyside and was rebuilt in 1930- 33 as a dude ranch, known as Gary Cooper Ranches, Inc., 7 Bar Nine. The name was changed on March 1, 1930, to Gary, after Gary Cooper, movie actor, who grew up in this vicinity."

lz - I just finished reading your followup description of the Festival. Did I read correctly that the Festival will be in Hollywood again next year? Also, is there anywhere that we can see the fan perspectives that were shown on TCM during the Festival? -

ham - I will have to learn more about the horoscope aspect. I truly don't know much about that part of WWII. But to me, it just adds to the craziness of the background. I'm not going to go to the History Channel (or the Hitler Channel) as I've heard it called. They seem to have too much wacky stuff on there nowadays. Don't know what lots of it has to do with history. Thanks (!) for that info on hanging! A little more than what I needed to know, but I can handle it. I started watching *Hitler* but, it got too late, and too creepy, so I turned in. A lot of us remember watching *Rat Patrol* on TV - it did seem like a different part of the war. A lot less gruesomeness (yes, I know it was just TV).

Fred, Being such a James Mason fan, I couldn't miss this last night. Here are some highlights before I have to leave for work - - Rommel wearing that long leather coat in the hot desert - he had diptheria of the nose? - they never once referred to Hitler by name - it was always him, he, the Bohemian corporal, the Supreme Leader, my Fuhrer - war by horoscope? -when his wife and son visited Rommel in the hospital, they left without so much as a hug, kiss - they never even got close to him. I have no idea how accurate this was, will check later.

They do eventually clear out the spam. patful, you are probably correct, but this stuff happens in the middle of the day, and remains up for hours on end. It is distracting and embarrassing and most likely illegal. It's scary how one entity can take over a board like that. > > The only way to prevent spam (and trolls) is to change the registration process. Make it a pain in the butt for spammers, and make it easy to identify multiple accounts/return-from-banishment trolls. I don't know too many posters here who would disagree with this.

Nightmare Alley and how it pertains to being film noir
cinemafan replied to butterscotchgreer's topic in Films and Filmmakers
butterscotch - I have no idea - because I've never seen it! Boo hoo! Another Tyrone Power movie I have missed. *Nightmare Alley* - I need to see this. -
This is like a faucet drip drip dripping. That can't be stopped. Is it gone now? Why now? What is the secret for getting rid of it? Is there a way to get rid of it sooner? I can't log on at work to report each and every case of spam. There has got to be a more efficient way to get rid of this before 6-7 hours. Help, TCM admin!!
