I was trying to edit my original post and say that it may be something I need to do to correct this. But, I couldn't get in to edit. I just now updated the flash player - but it looks the same. Maybe I'm losing my mind from all this frustration - like Marnie. I do not have the most up to date computer. Maybe I am being phased out! We'll keep trying. Thanks, all. Sorry to start this on a Friday evening, but I just had the worst thought. I sincerely hope that these Message Boards are not being slowly phased out or let to die. Not only is it a struggle to log on and post, but now the whole page looks different. At the top, there are no options to go anywhere else, ie. Home, Morlocks, etc. Please tell me these are only temporary glitches. We have had sparse communication with WebAdmin. I view these Boards as a place to read and communicate with others, not just make lists and post articles. Sincerely, cinemafan

molo and others - It is extremely hit and miss here. What really frightened me was - the home page did not have the Message Boards listed at the top - the last 2 times I tried to log in. In fact, it's not there now, at the top of any page that I can see. How do you get out of here? *I very much hope that these Message Boards do not disappear one day!* Is the CFU sapping all its' energy? You have to battle your way in here nowadays! In other words, you really have to want to be here. By the time you get logged on, well, you know how that feels. Hope this posts.

Mongo, thanks for that photo of Michael Sarrazin. I enjoyed.his featured movies the other night - he made quite an impression on me back in the day.

I have tried to post the past 2 nights and had no luck, which for me, is extra frustrating. Once the opportunity to post a thought or idea passes, it seems way too late to wait a day or two to try again. So far tonight, I'm having better luck.

> CineMaven here, Senor Feaito. Yes this is one of the most active threads. I shudder to think that we almost lost it. Yea!!! We fought City Hall and we won that battle. Allow me to say that I am so glad you all are still here. As I've tried to let everyone know, I am first a reader - and there's lots and lots of good stuff to read here. I haven't seen some of these movies, however, summer will be here soon and I will have extra time to catch up. Thanks, all. And keep on rambling in print! PS, CM - As many times as I've seen Glenn Ford (a favorite for me), I never noticed his ears! I guess I'll have to look more closely next time. You've got me curious. The other night in *Trial*, he had a sort of crew-cut and I still just saw Glenn Ford.

Here I go complaining again - last night it was *impossible* to log in. I can't imagine the logistics of dealing with this. I just hope this regular message board does not disappear.

Miss G. I've seen "The Lusty Men" - had to when I found out Robert Mitchum was in it. These rodeo guys seem to have a hard time settling down. I'll have to see it again and compare the rodeo action scenes - 30 so years apart.
-
. Well, it took me a while to find these photos and post them. This is a lot of work! Did anyone see these last night? Made me want to go and see a rodeo. I hadn't intended to watch them, but saw Ida Lupino onscreen, and kept watching. Ben Johnson was also in it. JW Coop had lots of real rodeo cowboys in it also. I couldn't figure out the ending of JW.

The New WebAdmin has just totally erased my criticism thread

Maybe it will never return, maybe our questions will never be answered. Maybe these message boards will be allowed to slowly die. -
So, I am so far behind - the other night I was watching my taped Kay Francis movies *Street of* *Women*, 1932 and *Give Me Your Heart*, 1936 (from whenever she was SOTM), and I discovered Roland Young! I've seen him before, of course, but after seeing him in two movies back to back, I finally appreciated him! Funny, charming guy. What other films can you recommend? Thanks.

Giving credit where credit is due, I want to thank those responsible for erasing the two spam-ads that I brought up the other night in the other thread that has been taken away for scrutiny and dissection. Here is what I wrote: "*Just today there were two posts in Films and Filmmakers advertising brand new 2009 movies opening soon. Why are they not deleted immediately? Bona fide threads have been shoved below them. They should not be locked as in the past, but deleted. They are taking up valuable space."* Thanks for taking care of that. It makes a big difference in readability and board enjoyment. -

filmlover - I got a chance to respond to your post last night My post also was obliterated. I was glad to have a thread where our concerns might be heard, but I guess the truth hurts too much. TCM and this board attracts intelligent, literate people. Why are they surprised when those same people, who contribute much here, ask questions regarding the management of the board? What is so threatening about that? "Ask me no questions - I'll tell you no lies". New Board Policy? -
I have to be honest here, I only noticed George O'Brien in *Sunrise*. I've seen other films with him, but did not recognize him. He made such an impression in *Sunrise* that he was all I remembered. He is in the Silent Sundays opening, smiling in the rain. I love watching that. Message was edited by: cinemafan to once again fix my margins

Bronxgirl - calm yourself down there. I'm sending you a symbolic bucket of cold water to douse yourself with - from the other side of the country.
-
I'll take the easy ones. Mickey Rooney, Lloyd Bridges, Ralph Bellamy and Dick Powell.

Oh, mama.... > > A thousand thanks!! > Bronxgirl - A while back Mongo posted a few photos of George that showed much more than his chest. If it weren't so late, I'd look for them. Apparently, he was an athlete and model. Message was edited by: cinemafan to fix my margins!

Hope your dreams come true. Your post was an enjoyable read and made me want to rush out and get that book.

I saw that also. The appraiser was very enthusiastic and said that the costumes and the "''winkies" were designed by Adrian.

Kid, unfortunately, I have to agree with you. The music was overbearing and at many times did not fit for me. I enjoyed the movie though. Surprisingly frank, in costume and action. Greta was beautiful.
