Thanks for your response. This is the strangest situation - surely there is some info somewhere.

Having seen Henry Nakamura recently in "Go for Broke" and "Westward the Women", I tried to find out info on him. I could find very little. No date/place of birth, nothing. Tobitz and Edgecliff touched on this on another thread. Does anyone have any info or sources I can check out. Thanks, cinemafan

This has been shown on TCM at least a couple of times that I can remember. Keep checking the schedule.
-
Yeah, but who are the two cute little ones? Does anyone know the occasion for this photo? Thanks.

Going way back to the original posts, I felt like I understood what both you and cine.jr were trying to convey. Don't know what that says about me.
dan: have you really seen Sgt. York 1000 times? Wow!

When "Romeo and Juliet" first came out, a local radio station had a mail-in contest to win tickets to see this. I was very happy to win tickets, and my dad drove a couple of my friends and I to see it. Needless to say, I enjoyed it very much, and everytime I hear the music, it takes me back. This was also my introduction to Michael York.

This is one that I always have to check out if it's on. The leading ladies from "Mutiny on the Bounty" were in this one too, Movita and Mamo Clark. Love those lava lavas. Jon Hall was a handsome guy.
-
Thanks, Kyle. I guess I never noticed them before, the one I saw was so "bright". What else would a lipstick ad be? Now that summer's here, I have more time to fine tune my computer, and watch more movies!
-
I was having trouble switching from message boards to schedule, suggest a movie and anywhere else, so I logged off and went to schedule and looked up a movie. A bright banner ad for a cosmetics company showed up across the top of the screen. There was a much smaller one in the middle of the page. Has anyone else noticed this? It looks like the only page that this ad does not show up on is this one, message boards, so far.
I wonder if this is what is causing the difficulties in moving around the site. The good news is that you can scroll down and not have to look at that bright ad if you want to.

True to form, I got my vote in at the last minute last night. To all, thanks for your hard work in taking the time to do this. filmlover, love your faux covers and Alan Ladd/Veronica Lake. Happy viewing, cinemafan

"The Graduate" may have had such a scene.
-
ok, it worked this time. (It helps to spell 'laffite" correctly.) Guess it's time to see the movie.
-
lafitte, have you found the answer to your questions? I tried to pm you as a test/answer, but it could not go through. I believe that anyone can send you a pm, but it is up to you to open it.

Mongo, it was last June that I became aware of Louis Hayward, when TCM showcased him one evening in 3 films. I put on "The Man in the Iron Mask" (in the middle of the film) before that, and couldn't stop watching Louis Hayward. As I said before, I love his voice and smile. Another reason why I love TCM - always something new to discover.
-
Thanks for your hard work in hosting this Challenge. Things have been very busy for me lately, and I think I am always the last one to vote. Would you please clarify the deadline? Is it Sat. June 14, midnight (what time zone?) I promise to check out the list and vote by then. Thanks, cinemafan

More recycling! Gypsy Rose Lee just did a 'dance' while singing "Put the Blame on Mame".
-
Thanks for being on the same wavelength and answering my similar question in Gen. Discussions just now.. (There goes that music again).
-
Thanks, now I can sleep tonight. I wondered if anyone else would catch that. Wonder how that music got recycled? (I may not have noticed the music as much if I had been watching Anita!)
-
I had this on in the background just now, and I know that music played at the very beginning of the movie. It's recycled from another, more 'classic' movie. I can't place it, can anyone? Thanks
-
Don't forget "The Man with the Golden Arm" on May 28 with Frank, Kim Novak and Eleanor Parker. Frank gives a classic portrayal of a junkie.
-
Because I don't see a lot of newer movies, I've only seen Tim Roth in one - "Rob Roy", which I only watched because Liam Neeson was in it. Tim Roth was riveting as Liam's opponent. There was an unforgettable swordfight between the two in that one, also.

Mongo did an "In the Spotlight" on Juano Hernandez in December.
