I've never had an edited post go to the top, however, when I have edited a post afterwards - my posting name is listed as the last poster. Hope that makes sense. You might practice here.
Someone else may know more.

Lucille Ball and James Morrison were in "Next Time I Marry", 1938. They travelled together in a car pulling a trailer in which he lived. This was on TCM in the last few months.

re: Stephen Boyd. In all movies I've seen him in, I could never detect an "accent" . Sad that he died way too young
-
Fred, Here's another movie where I would have used that fire poker on someone's head, or jumped out a window and ran like heck.

> I said I liked her before but I am telling you now I only said that to whitewash my opinion on her for the higher ups at TCM.
> Truthfully-- I cannot stand her and of course I cannot-if you knew how a real punk rocker thinks-it is a no brainer. Her pretty face and see through shirt wearing self can go hang out with the other morons at the fashion shows for all I care as long as she stays away from me.

cinemafan here: Kim, Kim, Kim!!! Say it ain't so! There are certain posters here who, like the old commercial says, "if they speak, I listen". You are one of those, even if I don't agree with you or carry on posted dialogue with you, who are on my "true-blue" list of respected posters. Please, be honest with us from word one - we take this stuff seriously. Respectfully, cinemafan

Fred, I haven't noticed anything on my 19" screen, but will keep a lookout for it.
-
I had just been looking at the schedule before I read this news. On Mon. 4-7-08, a Private Screenings from 1998 with Heston is scheduled (at 6am PT), to be followed at 7am (PT) by The Wreck of the Mary Deare.

I heard that last night, also. I found nothing on the TCM site, but here is is the official site - www.robertosbornefilmfestival.com. Wish I lived closer.
-
This is the silent-ist silent film I have ever seen.

He was great in "Captain Newman, MD". It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized all these different songs I grew up hearing were all sung by the same person, the one and only Bobby Darin. That was talent.

Kyle, this thread is much appreciated. Re: "Prodigal Daughters" - what year was this made and will it be on soon? Thanks, cinemafan

So lovely and well-spoken. Thanks for sharing.

PrinceS. This thread has turned into a valuable tool in which to finally decide whether to add someone to our ignore list. Thank you.

A belated thanks to all who participated. I find it harder every time to pick out just one to vote for. I appreciate the hard work and love of film and this board that the participants have.
I especially love that cover of James Mason - that is a very beautiful photo of him.
-
Fred, this is a tough one to watch!

Thelma, I don't know what particular challenge you are facing on the message boards, but it has been like this for years now. Posters come and go, leaving chaos in their wake. Those of us who choose to stay find a way to find the good amongst the bad, because this is what we have to work with.
-
I do realize and appreciate talent when I see it. Hopefully, you have found a place on our boards where you can continue to share your works with us, even when you are not on vacation. This is an enjoyable thread that I can see continuing. cinemafan

If I understand correctly, you did all these yourself? I am in awe and thanks for sharing them. cinemafan, (who is definitely not an artist)

Back in January, MrsCooper shared that her family is also related to Dickens. (in the Ronald Colman thread in Favorites). Maybe you two are kissin' cousins! cinemafan.

off topic - if you get a chance, see "Hell's Heroes", 1930, with Charles Bickford. It is another version of "3 Godfathers" that you may enjoy.
-
Moira: Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely taping, if not watching immediately, at least 3 of those. Rod Taylor and Julie Christie - great.
On another note, I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who saw "Girl With Green Eyes" last week. That was another good cast: Peter Finch, Rita Tushingham and a youthful Julian Glover. (And don't forget the Irish scenery). I may pm you with a question I had about that film. cinemafan

I need to get out more. Apparently James Cromwell is more talented than I realized. I'm just not that familiar with his voice. That's what I get for mainly watching "older" movies. Thanks, cinemafan
-
moira: Thanks for that photo of Chester Morris on the set. He looks very relaxed. While he was not Hollywood handsome, he always seemed to me to be above all, confident. I managed to see him in "Three Godfathers" last fall; first time I had ever seen him in non-modern clothes. I have the unfortunate habit of taping late into the night, and finding myself with the end of a movie cut off. That happened with "Alibi", so I hope it will replay.
Miss G: As fast as these guys talked, I could always understand them. On lots of newer movies, I find myself rewinding time and again to try to understand what they just said. Not with Chester.

Kyle, are you sure of this? I just heard a "What a Character" on William Frawley, and the voice didn't seem as deep as James Cromwell's. Thanks

Anyone know a good psychiatrist?

My choice would be Capt. Newman, MD. But I'd listen while he talked.
