You know another great actress comes to mind who could've played madame Konstantine from the movie "Notorious" how about Gladys Cooper!? She was quite the evil mother in "Now Voyageur" she could've pulled the part off lolite.

Gosh darn i love old movies b/w, pre-codes, after the code,all of it ! mainly because the story telling is about down to earth plain everyday living.The good guy gets the bad guy. The values of the true american family during war times in "The Best Years Of Our Lives" & The Human Comedy, Since you went away. The heartbreak of a woman who sacrifices the presence of her daughter so she could have the advantages her father could give her in the movie "Stella Dallas"...The movies of yesteryear are triumphs of the human spirit and should be restored and cherished for ever.The movies today unfortunately are mainly for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ all to sad!!!!! lolite.

Mongo, thanks for the information on Dorothy Jordan i lovethe movie "The Searchers" i learned something new today never realizing the same Dorthy Jordan that was in Min & Bill is the same in the John Ford Movies it never clicked until today for me! In the middle of the movie Ray Milland gets very drunk gets behind the wheel of his car and makes a wrong turn at an intersection and crashes into a dept store window can't recall if for sure a mother & daughter were looking in the store window at the same time of the crash or not. I agree with you Ray Milland's performance is just as good as "Lost Weekend" .... Dear Moira glad your feeling better and can post again with us! LOVE YOUR POSTS! lolite.

Sunnysideup i wrote this in another post incase you don't see it the movie might be "Night Into Morning" 1951 Ray Milland run into a dept store window i think with a Mother & Daughter looking in a store window I've seen this movie only on TCM a while back hope this is the movie your looking for but without more info its hard to help you. This movie was in B/W and had Nancy Davis Reagan inthe movie also Rosemary Decamp, John Zodiac its a real tearjerker but excellent movie for its time lolite.

These films you can't find on e-bay ! As far as a new dvd/vcr goes wednesday is my birthday so am hoping that will be one of my presents. Because frankly this winter the heating & utility bills were high and i couldn't afford to buy a new one right now. If some one has already taped these movies and would tape them on a blank videotape and send it to me i would be very grateful...lolite.
