  8. Yes! saw "Dead Ringer" in the 60's in the theatre when it first came out i could barely eat my buttered pop corn i was on the edge of my seat Bette gave a incredible performance but even as a young impressionable person i could tell the butler knew that she was the twin sister!...and thinking to myself how could she remember all that dialogue from both characters!...Remember i was young folks! Karl Malden was perfect in that role in my opinon Peter Lawford was so so really didn't impress me in this role.Anyone who loves Bette Davis must see this movie. Also at the end of the movie that is really the Warner Bros. studio they drive out of.....

  14. Would like to see more films of shirley booth on tcm . She's a gifted artist and its time the younger generation got to know of her..... Hollywood seemed to keep her in the background i dion't know why ? Maybe because she became a major star which surprised Hollywood. At a time when Hollywood only saw her as a character actress in the same realm as Thelma Ritter?....One can only speculate.
  15. I love Shirley Booth though she won an oscar for "come back little sheba" which is definitely worth watching she was a fine actress and stage actress as well in many other films and plays. In later years she did tv series "Hazel" which i loved watching growing up. Though i felt it was beneath her acting range, she was more gifted than just playing a maid!....But i think she did the television series to support herself in her later years like most actors ddid when parts in later years didn't come around as often.LOVEHER, LOVE HER,LOVE HER. Wish tcm would devote a day to shirley booth.

  22. Actually i have two favorities the Jonathan winters gas station scene in "It's a mad mad mad mad World" i heard a cute story told by Robert Osborne about this scene. Seems it was a lunch break in the middle of shooting this scene and Jonathan Winters was all duck taped in the chair for the scene well they forgot about him being tied up and left him there throughout the lunch break!... Everyone came back from lunch an hour later Jonathan still sitting there waiting patiently to do the scene! Boy he must've been hungry that day!.... Also the scene from the movie "The Birds" great cinema tography.....
  23. i watched king of kings last nite too. I liked it especially knowing i was seeing cecil's own backyard.... he was a man who liked to do biblical cinema & Hollywood excepted him doing his thing. He was a director with all the gusto of a moses with a megaphone in his hand.... thank god that he was every Easter we reap the benefits of his fine biblical story telling and a bit of faith to touch our souls. Also the movies the Robe, the ten commanments, & Ben Hur. Cecil for your hard work for our cinema enjoyment thank you & God Bless.
