the phone booth scene in the movie"Dial M for Murder" Ray Milland goes in the phone booth to call Grace Kelly to her death!...so cold so calculating!...Ray Milland shows it all without much dialogue everytime i see that scene in the movie i get chills up & down my spine.

Jimmy Stewart is a good actor but Cary Grant is a film star.Jimmy's first movie role in one of the thin man movies shows him just starting to learn to act but over the years especially after WWII he matured as a human being and definately as an actorand for us the audience thank god he did!....Cary Grant knew his image and what the audience expected of him in comedy, drama, and with good directors he accomplished his craft!......

" I would love to have dinner with Mickey Borden look into his dreamy dark eyes and talk about composing music all nite long & light his cigarettes all thur dinner. Even if at the end of the dinner i had to pay the check!

I agree with you mongo. But can i add one more point though Joan Crawford won a oscar for her performance in this movie, i feel the oscar should have gone to Ann Blyth as (Veda). It was such a powerful performance for a young girl of sixteen truly amazing!.....I was hating her so much at the end of the picture i kept thinking she needs the woodshed with a leather strap!....... Where was the discipline she so richly deserved!........ What was her mother thinking of!.........................

Great Dancers who aren't considered Great Dancers?
loliteblue replied to msladysoul's topic in General Discussions
also can i add one more: the dancing team the Champions were great i'm quite a fan when i see them in musicals i don't think they got the stardom they truly deserved. i enjoy their dancing its like two swams enfolding each other....They were amarried team she gave up dancing with her husband to start a family he had a new dancing partner but i don't think the dancing magic was ever the same....Do you agree or not would like to know. -
Great Dancers who aren't considered Great Dancers?
loliteblue replied to msladysoul's topic in General Discussions
I felt that Jane Powell held her own in the dancing dept. with Fred Astaire in "Royal Wedding" though mostly an excellent singer, i would consider her a dancer too... She would have to be to team up with the great dancer Fred Astaire you think?...... -
My favorite is olivia her acting is excellent tends to come across more warmer to the ausdience or at least to me than Joan. Saw her last year on the oscars on t.v. olivia looked wonderful it was great to see her again after all these years....Wish she would sit down with Robert Osborn for screenings.

My favorite Barrymore are: John & Lionel. JOhn is a superb actoremotionally as well as physically those eyes say so much in a scene even before any dialogue spoken !... Lionel is a wonderful character actor one of my favorites is "On Borrowed Time" i cry everytime i see it on tcm lionel was magnificent in my opinon. Ethel's forte was the theatre her acting in so many matron roles in film was not giving true scope toher many talents as an actress the studios should have allowed her to have different character roles from time to time she certainly could have done an excellent job! I wonder why?

Frances Dee passes........another one gone
loliteblue replied to moviejoe79's topic in General Discussions
Frances Dee's passing gives me a deep sigh loved her performances in"Of Human Bondage" and "Little Woman" with kate Hepburn and Joan bennett. To me she was the epitamy of a star and celebrity mostly because she didn't act like a celebrity she was so down to earth and kind in all her interviews and you never heard anything bad or one bit of gossip and in Hollywood nothing short of a miracle and so in love with her husband of 57 years Joel Mccrea everytime she was interviewed she would talk mostly of her husband not of herself. She will be missed. TCM segment of her was wonderful i'm ready for her tribute thinking she's in heaven with her husband & they are together again and that doesn't make me sad it makes me smile. -
