  1. Sleeper, Compare this image of Minnelli with the posted one below. You will see the same distinctive eyebrow, bottom lip, hair line and smile. It's definitely Minnelli. If the link doesn't work, just try a Google image search.
  2. Will these include the U-I films such as the Audie Murphy, Francis the Talking Mule, Creature from the Balck Lagoon series.?
  3. Anyone know of any Hollywood friends that Neville had?
  4. Just watched Birdman of Alcatraz and still think that Brand's performance was as worthy of a Supporting Actor nomination as Telly Savalas was. Too bad. It turned out to be his best and last chance.
  5. Ray, When you were doing the Chelsea Rialto series, you purchased some posters from me on eBay. Having grown up in movie theaters in Chelsea, I recalled your name. Amazing. That was probably 7-8 years ago. Jerry/42nd Street Memories
  6. Ray, Your name looks familar. You don't screen films in NYC by any chance? Jerry Kovar
  7. Would like to hear from Neville Brand fans, friends, co-stars..... A fine actor when given a good role under a good director (Wilder, Frankenheimer, Lumet, Siegel) and a solid character actor even in sub-par movies. And a highly decorated soldier in WWll. Jerry Kovar
  8. I read somewhere that TCM was planning to show Universal-International films after the current contract with the Columbia films expires. Is this true and if so, when would the U-I films start up? Jerry

His list of decorations also includes: Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Ribbon, the European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three Battle Stars, one Overseas Service Bar, one Service Stripe, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. Hollywood press agents tagged him with being the 2nd, 3rd, 4th highest decorated soldier to hype a movie. Brand admitted that this ranking wa
  10. Would like to hear from Nev fans, friends, co-stars. He was made for noir and too bad he didn't do more.
  11. Just saw 2 new films that border on neo-noir. Sidney Lumet's BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD and the Coen Bros' NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. DEVIL is a throw back to the heist-gone-wrong flics with a lot of twists. Philip Seymour Hoffman is excellent. But the Coen Bros film is pure noir with Javier Bardem giving an Oscar worthy performance in a David Lynch-like villaneous role.
  12. I've been searching for The Marauders with Dan Duryea. An MGM 50's western that left an impression on me as a kid.
  13. Why is it that I cannot see TCM videos, trailers, etc. (I can hear it) but I do not have a problem on other sites? HELP
