  12. *The Jokers* is correct. Your thread.
  13. *The Subject Was Roses* ?? (if so _the Bronx_ is a hometown??)
  14. Restless, wealthy young Londoners come up with a plan to steal the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London; and use the excuse that they did it to expose lapses in the security system.
  15. Thanks, ladyeve. Trying another one. British. 1960s. Color. Caperflick. Not for money -- to combat boredom. Brothers cooperate, but there is an underpinning of sibling rivalry.
  16. *The War Wagon* THE CHOCLATE WAR or THE WAR OF THE ROSES
  17. ladyeve; Barry Gordon _is_ the answer, and you have taken this off my hands. Help yourself. I remember fondly Mr. Gordon's performences on the old "Archie Bunker's Place" as the young lawyer with the firm that handled Archie's legal affirs, and who had a massive crush on Archie's niece. I first became aware of him, I guess, as Jason Robard's nephew in *A Thousand Clowns*. Take it.
  18. *The Life And Times Of Judge Roy Bean* ??
  19. ladyeve; Look at the second clue. *Diamond Skulls* is the British title. The USA title is *Dark Obsession*. The Michael Caine quote was taken from Roger Ebert's review of *DS*. which is in his yearly volume, but not on his website -- too old, I guess. Your thread, ladyeve, and its all your fault.
  20. *10+.* Holding the answer overnight; couple of extra clues. The male star had a network series on USA TV, a comedy. Also had a 30-minute drama series on HBO for one season. The female star did a few years on a long-running courtroom drama, and made a bit of on-air history involving a lesbian kiss. I looked up the Browning poem since starting this, and I'm struck by the parallels. This quote is striking: The monologist says of his wife,"She thanked men--good! but thanked somehow -- I know not how -- as if she ranked my gift of a nine-hundreds-year-old name with anybody's gift."
  21. The hit vocal that I recorded when very young was a Christmas song. It still gets heard in the right season.
  22. *55* Valdareee, Valderaaaa Valdereeeee Valdera ha ha ha HA ha...
  23. lavender; Actually it was Marian the Librarian & the two husbands and kids that brought it together for me. I'll try one more of these: not likely to last long. I was born in the late 1940s, in the biz from adolescence. Recorded a song at age 6 that was very successful and is still heard as a seasonable favorite. Lots of work as a juvinile on TV. Took a Broadway role to the movie version, still playing juviniles in my 20s. Aged into a competent supporting player, mostly on TV. Played a lot of lawyers, a lot of Rabbis, a lot of lab geeks. Served a period as president of SAG. Have dabbled in politics, and Talk Radio. Who?
