Okay, we'll just set it up for the last couplet to be entered by someone else: The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep,

At only four more Views, nobody is even reading these questions, much less answering. The conversation about cops was between Faye Dunaway and Mickey Rourke in Barfly. Thread's open

Thanks, Miles. I haven't put any work into this one. It just sort of brought itself to my attention recently, and it focuses on an ad-campaign tagline. 60s comedy. The previews and TV blurbs had the narrator rattle off the names of the cast, some of them pretty well known, and end with "...yada, yada, and yada, together again for the first time!". And the movie as a whole was on about that level of sophistication. I loved it. Anyone admit to being old enough to remember that one?

Le'me see, here, le'me see. 1. Byron Elsworth Barr played Gig Young in *The Gay Sisters* then took Gig Young as his professional name. One reason: there was another Byron Barr around (Barbara Stanwick's other sucker, uh, boyfriend in *Double Indemnity*) and Young avoided confusion with him. Took home an Oscar under that name. 2. Donnna Lee Hickey played May Wynn in *The Caine Mutiny*, and adapted that as her name for the rest of her career. 3. Justus McQueen played Marine Pvt. L.Q. Jones in *Battle Cry*, then adapted the character's name as his own. Last seen in *A Prairie Home Companion*. Are those the ones you had in mind?

> _1st Guy_ "Did you find a job?" > _2nd Guy_ "Yeah. I got something at the striptease. I help the girls dress and undress." > _1st Guy_ "Nice job." > _2nd Guy_ "Twenty francs a week." > _1st Guy_ "Not very much." > _2nd Guy_ "Its all I could afford." > > Who? What film? I returned to *What's New, Pussycat?* for this one. 1st Guy was Peter O'Toole; 2nd Guy was scripter Woody Allen. (Could this material be anybody else's?) At 28 Views, I'll try one more before giving this up for a while. Again, dialogue: _She_: "I hate cops. Don't you hate cops?" _He_ : "Noooo, but I do seem to feel better when they're not around." Who? Film?

That was said by Dudley Moore to Mary Steenburgen when they played a scriptwriting team who wrote romantic comedies in a film called *Romantic Comedy*. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't know how many are logging on here lately, so I'll try keeping count. At View # 775, I want to try another scrap of scripted conversation: _1st Guy_ "Did you find a job?" _2nd Guy_ "Yeah. I got something at the striptease. I help the girls dress and undress." _1st Guy_ "Nice job." _2nd Guy_ "Twenty francs a week." _1st Guy_ "Not very much." _2nd Guy_ "Its all I could afford." Who? What film?
