  1. *3.* Another way of ripping a cowboy off: The bartender has a rattlesnake in a huge glass jar. Pay the bartener a dollar, and you can hold your hand against the glass. If you can _hold_ your hand there when the snake strikes the inside of the jar, you win. The cowboy always loses. Survival reflex kicks in.
  2. *2.* The youngster is hired onto a cattle drive as helper for the cook. He discovers there is little real friendship among the drovers. And it seems there is no such thing as a friendly town on their route.
  3. *1.* Early '70s Western. Revisionist. Not Hollywood's west. Dirty and lawless. Starts with a boy who wants to be a cowboy. The man who hires him says, "That's a hell of an ambition, boy." (7,998)
  4. Yo, Sixes, For one thing, I didn't name the directors as requested, and for another thing I've got _*nothing*_ right now. Pose another one, or open up the thread. cmvgor

  11. (3,285) visualfeast; You got it, at or before 31 views. Those who logged on without spotting it may find it interesting to learn a little about the story. La. Governor Earl K. Long, (played by Paul Newman) had his final stroke in 1960. Stripper Blaze Starr (Lolita Davidovich here) is still living as far as I can determine. She even took a support role in the making of this 1989 film. She has made other film appearances, and she has an imdb website of her own. vf, you're up.
  12. *42* "Eeewww! Somebody or something got here ahead of us!"
  13. Kramer, Billy -- Justin Henry in *Kramer vs Kramer*
  14. The dancer is, in fact, an "exotic" dancer (can you say..."stripper"?). The man is a prominent elected official. He has the clout to keep harmful attention at bay, but he is a liberal and the more conservative pols use his behavior against him as much as they can. Again, fact-based.
  15. Let's try this one: "I am a paranoid schizophrenic. I am my own entourage."
  16. _EVER THE OPTOMIST, TRYING AGAIN--ANOTHER ONE-SHOT_ She was told by her mother never to trust a man who told her, "Trust me." She grows up to be a dancer, and a number of experiences confirm her mother's advice. Then she meets a prominent man who shows an interest in her, and she asks him, "Can I trust you?" He looks surprised and answers, "Hell,no!" They have a long and happy relationship. At the onset of a drastic illness, he assures her that he'll soon be allright, adding, weakly, "Trust me." Soon afterward, he dies. Oh, yeah. -- Fact based. (3,254 Views; 1980s film) Message was edited by: cmvgor
