  1. *10.*The star had quiet a career in larger-than-life roles as authority figures. Sending the likes of Gregory Peck off on dangerous missions, etc. And he was the star of a series of medical-themed comedies in the 60s. -- A doctor with a knighthood. This film was a 1961 release.
  2. Mighty Mouse. MEESES --- TRIXIE AND DIXIE or JERRY AND TUFFY
  3. The cast includes a well-respected Oscar winner in a support role. The plot includes a forceful kidnapping of a **** donor.
  4. In canine mutation, a dog still has a keen sense of smell. Downside -- it has lost the ability to forage, to hunt, to obtain food for itself. Upside -- it has gained the ability to communicate with humans telepathically. Dog and man hook up; they can support and help each other. I ran across a blurb which claims that this title is always showing up when someone makes a "10 Best Sci-Fi Movies" list. The canine star of this movie had seen previous exposure with The Brady Bunch. Did I mention? 1975.
  5. Quartermass, Prof. Bernard -- Brian Donlevy in *The Quartermass Experiment* (1955)
  6. Negative re *Love Camp*. *9.* With help, the scientist is hidden within the camp until the staff are convienced that an escape has already happened. With just the right timing, and accompanied by two others, all in appropriate clothing, he walks out the front gate masquerading as International Red Cross Inspectors. Fade out; fade in to the "present", and he is reunited with some of his old mates on the television program
  7. *8.* The scientist (he's been knighted, by the way) is arrogant and abrasive, but the other prisoners take seriously their obligation to help him make an escape. He keeps rejecting their plans and arrangements. This is another title that is on the TCM list, but is not currently scheduled. TCM also has a brief but adequate synopsis.
  8. Kelly, Luther -- Title role for Clint Walker in Yellowstone Kelly
  9. One gang has a defendable compound with a power source and the ability to show movies. The admission: food -- preferably canned goods from before the Event. The director gives himself a shot in a porn feature that is on the program. It is on the TCM list. not currently scheduled. Has a short but informative "overview". The Event mentioned above was WWIV.
  10. Bill The Cat. BENJI or DEPUTY DAWG
  11. Oh. The Beery - Cooper shot: *The Champ* ??
  12. *7.* In the reading matter allowed to the prisoners, the undercover scientist spots a magazine article -- written by him and with a photo -- about future use of the cathode ray, and its benefits to science. He rips out the article, heads for the latrine, and uses the pages for bathroom tissue. Crises averted.
  13. Negative re *Solyent Green.* This is the _only_ movie directed by a performer who had a destinguished career as a character actor. Has something of a cult status. Fans threw a Trekkie-type shindig when the DVD came out.
  14. Not that interested. The movie _may be_ *Dinner At Eight*.
  15. BRIT -- Constible, Bobby or (derogatory) bloody Infantry. AMER -- Uniform cops (not plainclothes or detectives).
  16. I got lucky with the description of the Drayfuss character's personality. With the earlier discussions of an Italian family, Miss Hunter never crossed my mind. -- I'll post one clue, and then Life calls me away from the screen for a few hours. Post-Apocalypse. Society balkanized. Mutations are coming about.
  17. Habershaw, Otto -- Kevin McCarthy in *A Big Hand For The Little Lady*
  18. *Once Around* ?? Holly Hunter and Richard Drayfus ??
  19. *6.* A re-viewing a few nights ago of *The Bridge On The River Kwai* brought certain aspects of this movie to mind. This script devoted some time to the aspects of Community and organization among the prisoners. They were allowed to have activities among themselves. -- They had a school, where anyone knowledgable in a subject could give instructions in that subject. They cast and rehearsed and peformed theatrical skits. The German captors dealt ethically with inspectors from Switzerland checking the camps on behalf of the Geneva Convention. In one droll sequence, an executive of the Escape Committee who is also in the chorus line of a theatrical production number is called aside for a conference. He takes part in the discussion and renders a decision while half distracted with making adjustments to his skirt and his bodice.
  20. BRIT -- Demobed, on Civey Street AMER -- Out of the Service; a civilian now.
  21. 31 "Daddy _told_ me the LAFitness contract was a better deal!"
  22. *5.* One prisoner is incognito. He masquerades as a Naval Officer after his plane is shot down, but he is a civilian scientist who is desperately needed on a project elswhere. The Escape Committee are working full time on the project. // This particular script has some humor and some lighter moments, but "Hogan's Heros" it ain't. It is still quite a grim situation.
  23. Jackie Cooper ?? Not a very big photo.
