I knew this answer a few clues ago but neglected to respond because I don't have access (or time) often enough to adequately pose a question of my own. I'll try one after getting confirmation that I'm correct. I apologize in advance if my responses are slow.

UC;
Whew! I was composing my last answer when you logged on with the above comment. Suggestion: Knowing what you do, you may consider going on the TCM list pages and contributing a synopsis. At any rate, I now feel less like an oddball. Thanks.

As the one Amish acquaintance of my life would have said: It wonders me. It wonders me that the
readership of these Boards don't recognize a description of 1975's *A Boy And His Dog*. It had
Don Johnson in the lead, Jason Robards in support. Based on a novella by SF superstar Harlan
Ellison. Director L.Q. Jones turned in a long career of solid support performances that approached
brilliance when he had the catalyst of Strother Martin as a partner and Sam Peckinpah as a director.
And it was not just Trivia buffs. I did a scroll-through of the "Science Fiction" and "Cult Movies"
Forums, and found no mention of it. (With the 19 pages in the SF Forum, I didn't take time to go on to every "name this movie" thread.) Anyway, its there. Its on the TCM list with brief-but-adequate description. Anyone curious enough to look it up may want to skip the next sentence;
its a spoiler. He kills the girl and feeds her to the dog, thus saving the life of his only dependable friend.

Having gone all the way without a correct answer, I'm posing another one.
*1.* Undercover narocotics officers in a small-city Southwest location. Undercover; also understaffed, underfunded, undersupported by the department they were working for. Fact-based.

British title -- *A Very Important Person*. American title -- *A Coming - Out Party*. I'm now thinking that in the list of well-regarded films on POW themes, this one, with its comic elements,
just didn't travel well outside the UK. The star, _James Robertson Justice_ , was the mission master that briefed the commandos who took on the *Guns Of Navarrone* mission. As mentioned
previously, The TCM list does include this title, and it has a synopsis.

*10.*The star had quiet a career in larger-than-life roles as authority figures. Sending the likes of Gregory Peck off on dangerous missions, etc. And he was the star of a series of medical-themed
comedies in the 60s. -- A doctor with a knighthood.
This film was a 1961 release.

Mighty Mouse.
MEESES --- TRIXIE AND DIXIE or JERRY AND TUFFY
-
The cast includes a well-respected Oscar winner in a support role.
The plot includes a forceful kidnapping of a **** donor.

In canine mutation, a dog still has a keen sense of smell. Downside -- it has lost the ability to forage, to hunt, to obtain food for itself. Upside -- it has gained the ability to communicate with humans telepathically. Dog and man hook up; they can support and help each other.
I ran across a blurb which claims that this title is always showing up when someone makes a
"10 Best Sci-Fi Movies" list.
The canine star of this movie had seen previous exposure with The Brady Bunch.
Did I mention? 1975.

Negative re *Love Camp*.
*9.* With help, the scientist is hidden within the camp until the staff are convienced that an escape has already happened. With just the right timing, and accompanied by two others, all in appropriate clothing, he walks out the front gate masquerading as International Red Cross Inspectors. Fade out; fade in to the "present", and he is reunited with some of his old mates on the television program
-
*8.* The scientist (he's been knighted, by the way) is arrogant and abrasive, but the other prisoners take seriously their obligation to help him make an escape. He keeps rejecting their plans and arrangements.
This is another title that is on the TCM list, but is not currently scheduled. TCM also has a brief but adequate synopsis.

Kelly, Luther -- Title role for Clint Walker in Yellowstone Kelly

One gang has a defendable compound with a power source and the ability to show movies. The admission: food -- preferably canned goods from before the Event. The director gives himself a shot in a porn feature that is on the program.
It is on the TCM list. not currently scheduled. Has a short but informative "overview".
The Event mentioned above was WWIV.

Bill The Cat.
BENJI or DEPUTY DAWG

Oh. The Beery - Cooper shot: *The Champ* ??

*7.* In the reading matter allowed to the prisoners, the undercover scientist spots a magazine article -- written by him and with a photo -- about future use of the cathode ray, and its benefits to science. He rips out the article, heads for the latrine, and uses the pages for bathroom tissue.
Crises averted.

Negative re *Solyent Green.*
This is the _only_ movie directed by a performer who had a destinguished career as a character actor. Has something of a cult status. Fans threw a Trekkie-type shindig when the DVD came out.

Not that interested. The movie _may be_ *Dinner At Eight*.
-
BRIT -- Constible, Bobby or (derogatory) bloody Infantry.
AMER -- Uniform cops (not plainclothes or detectives).
-
Droopy
CHILLY WILLIE or OPUS

I got lucky with the description of the Drayfuss character's personality. With the earlier discussions of an Italian family, Miss Hunter never crossed my mind. -- I'll post one clue, and then Life calls me away from the screen for a few hours.
Post-Apocalypse. Society balkanized. Mutations are coming about.
