  1. Dead on!. The legal point was that the hullabaloo that ensued when the guardians of public morals

brought about the decline of Vaudville by raiding Minsky's Theater, a law was passed that made it illegal to display the name "MINSKY'S" on a building.

If you can get a chance to see it, the movie is only about 90% drek. I.E. no simple Amish maiden

came to New York with a desire to dance "stories from the Bible." No irate Amish father tracked her

down there and made a wrong move that tore off her dress and thereby invented the striptease. But the basic event is true, and these fancifull events are just there to dress up an actual event.

  2. Correct. After riding the A-Bomb to the ground like a bronco, Mr. Pickens was later asked about taking a role in The Shining (1980). He unregretfully declined, and Jack Nicholson's friend Scatman Crothers took the role. This took it back to Stephen King's origional story by having a

    Black actor in the role.

  3. This question does not lend itself to multiple follow-up clues, but I will try just one:

Peter Sellers played three roles in Strangelove, but he had contracted to play a fourth role as well. This turned out to be unworkable. The actor who was called in to play that fourth role was the one who later turned down Mr. Krubeck's offer to work in another film.

Negative re that title; a 1960's flick.

    Clue #3

One historical fact: A State law was passed that a certain name could never again be displayed

on a building in the state.

  5. I'll try a new one. I've discussed this on another website, so it may not last long here:

What featured player in the cast of Dr. Strangelove, Or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned To

Love The Bomb later turned down a most cordial invitation to work in another production because he had had enough of Director Stanley Krubreck's take after take after take way of

    doing business?

On that basis, I'll take another try.

Clue # 1: A story based on an actual event in showbiz history.
