  1. Early 60s release. The performers in this film did much more work in TV than in theratical features.

In spite of her seasonal arrangement, the dancer has committed to one gig. As a favor to one of her ex-husbands, she agrees to a one-week club date late in the summer.

  2. BRIT: Catapult *

    AMER: Slingshot.

...*A memory dredged up from one of the Lord Peter Whimsy mysteries on BBC. A mention was made that someone was killed with a "catapult", and I stayed with the story to see how someone in this day & age got killed with one of those Medevial siege machines used to knock down castle walls. It was something of a letdown when Lord Peter produced a slingshot and a few steel ball bearings.

  3. The dancer is employed steadily enough that she does not have to work during the summer "off" season, but neither can she afford to spend that hiatus at a resort or beach. The young man becomes her distraction for the summer, and they do grow fond of each other. There is an amiable and generous sugardaddy, but he takes up little of her time, and not at her apartment.

    WHOAYETAGAINFORACHANGE !!

Some of our posters do not have the freedom to stand by at all hours to respond to an answer/guess. those with Real World committments have to get back to the Boards when they can, and it does no harm to the integrity of the game to let proso learn that more than one person was intrested in his posed question. That said, I will now enter my own guess:

Was it Alfalfa to Spanky in *"Ritin' and 'Rithmatic* ??

The party who responds and handles the AC emergency is the Super's son. This begins an age-inappropriate affair. A lad of 17, and a mature showgirl with three divorces behind. her.

  6. Correct, phroso.

Jack Albertson ("Dad" in the quoted sequence) won an Oscar. Patricia Neal, who played his wife, was nominated. Martin Sheen ("Son") had his breakout role with this film, and has done a lot of fine work since. Frank D. Gilroy was the scripter/autobiogropher.

    phroso's thread.
