Well, there goes a whole stack of clues into the thrashcan. It is 1969's *The Comic* showcasing some very good work by Dick Van Dyke (sort of a Stan Laurel), Carl Reiner as his agent, and Mickey Rooney (spot-on as a Ben Turpin type). Consulting sources for this question, I made the surprising discovery that this excellent film has never been committed to DVD, or even to VHS. I took the time to log it on Suggest A Movie, and to vote for it to be recorded for distribution. (Since my vote was only about #72, I would appreciate any other users who would add their own votes.) I would like to see *The Comic* get a full-court treatment from Osborne and an honored guest, to bring it to the attention of a wide audience. The film deserves it, IMO. (363 Views)
