But of all the greats you mentioned, Garbo's QUEEN CHRISTINA was clearly the winner in my book.

I still say CHARIOTS OF FIRE was certainly the worst winner. I'll never forget Loretta Young's face when she read the winner...total disbelief.

A good example of why I shudder at the thought of remaking anything at all, is SABRINA.
To use a talentless plain looking woman in a part that Audrey Hepburn made her own, is the ultimate in insanity.
The only reason anyone remakes anything is because it was wonderful to begin with. Isn't that beginning with two and one-half strikes against you? Or are these people so arrogant as to think they can best the best?
I can not honsetly say that there has ever been a remake that was moderately good, muchless better than the original.
What's the point?
PS to whoever thinks LAURA would be ripe for a remake...ARE YOU KIDDING?

Actually, there was talk about a film being made of the best seller by Patricia Nell Warren, THE FRONT RUNNER,but at the time Paul Neuman and Jan Michael Vincent probably backed out, thinking it would damage their images. I hear that it is being made into a film, now...thirty-five years later.

I think the difference between Blondell and Sothern is that Blondell could never pull off "elegant" whereas Sothern did it quite well. They were both gems in their own right and should never be confused

Hello, Robert,
Agree or disagree,,,BENJAMIN BUTTON is recycled FORREST GUMP? I haven't see it, but the minute the ads were released, it was the first thought that came to mind.
