THIS IS THE ARMY was a BIG letdown for me. So much talent wasted on an over-the-top-piece of rabid propaganda. I'm not against Hollywood's propaganda films from the period, but most of them were much better written, directed and acted...not to mention the music! It's hard to beleive that the man who wrote "I Got Lost In His Arms", "There's No Business Like Show Busines" and "Cheek To Cheek" wrote the monotonous noise featured in this film. And, what man would stand for the conniving manipulation from the Joan Leslie character...I'd have second thoughts about sending this guy off to fight a war.
Against all the other propaganda war flics that Hollywood produced during this time, I say this one comes in last.
