  1. The times listed in the guide were 9:20 AM and 3:11 PM Pacific (12:20 PM Eastern, 6:11 PM Eastern). I recorded the 9:20 AM and it wasn't on. I was home for the 3:11 PM showing and it wasn't on. I also programmed a recording at that time since I wasn't sure if I was going to be home or not. Perhaps they were on at another time? The 3:11 PM Pacific listing was too short for the time alloted for the short. Odd.
  2. This short didn't air at either time it was listed today. I recorded both times it was scheduled, but it didn't show up. Maybe it aired it at another time?
  3. One was missed and it aired just before 9 PM Pacific. I missed the start of it. It had Babe Ruth. Too bad.
  4. There is an unscheduled short just on now. It has Babe Ruth.
  5. I am not sure if you are aware that When Comedy Was King and The Golden Age of Comedy will becoming out together on one disc. The First Kings of Comedy Collection will feature these two movies and it will be released on October 16th. http://www.amazon.com/First-Kings-Comedy-Collection-Golden/dp/B000UAE7K4/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b/105-4487634-2382865?ie=UTF8&qid=1190589782&sr=1-1
  6. Criterion is releasing this movie on dvd sometime in the future. I don't know when.
  7. > 4/14 11:09am/8:09a - Law and the Lab 1956-9m-doc ? Could it be this? http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/title/261655 Synopsis from the British Film Institute: Science to the aid of the U.S. police, mobile and headquarters laboratories.
  8. Here is a quick list: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (Stanley Kramer) My Name is Nobody (Tonino Valerii and Sergio Leone) North by Northwest (Alfred Hitchcock) The Lady from Shanghai (Orson Welles) The Shining (Stanley Kubrick) Kubrick and Welles have done other great films, but some of them might not be liked by all. One other suggestion for Welles might be F for Fake.
  9. Sergio Leone Anthology Set from MGM is going to be released. I was at the Barnes and Noble website and saw that it is coming out June 5, 2007. It is going to feature the The Man with No Name Trilogy as well as Duck you Sucker. It is going to be on eight discs.
  10. > 3/27 11:40pm/8:40p - Stopover In Hollywood > 1963-?m-? > > 16-1/2 minutes (still on my hard drive from last time) What is Stopover in Hollywood about?
  11. I love it when they post the schedule, now I can mark down all of the ones I want to see.
  12. Nertsery Rhymes --- possibly aired on February 26, 2002 at 11:30 PM Eastern to 1 AM Eastern. http://groups.google.com/group/alt.movies.silent/browse_thread/thread/5042211fd4ce69db/839b11b5e63e5977?lnk=st&q=nertseryrhymesstooges+26th&rnum=2&hl=en#839b11b5e63e5977 I have no idea about Roast Beef & Movies other than it is on Dancing Lady dvd as an extra. Maybe you saw these shorts on another channel? On a side note, I would love for TCM to have another shorts festival like the one in 2002.
  13. Another factor is distribution on satellite and cable. How much will Time Warner have to pay to get the new channel carried? They could possibly use their clout they have because they own CNN, Headline News, Courtv, TNT, TBS, TCM, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, HBO, and Cinemax. Boomerang is a spin off of the Cartoon Network. Maybe a spinoff of TCM is possible? Another thing it may not be viable because maybe the other studios might form their own channel and/or not sell TCM television airing rights. Also, the rights fees may go up and TCM might not want to pay them. There is also branding, which has been mentioned before.
