  1. Yes, I should do that. Most of the time my brain is going about 5 different directions at once.
  2. I'm kinda doing a lot of stuff at the same time here.
  3. Yeah, but when I have it small it clips off the dates and I just see the days. Messes with me a bit if I roll the mouse too far.
  4. Another film I will record. Thanks for the reccomendation.
  5. I edited my post to fix it. I am looking at this crazy side schedule and it's been making me crazy in the head.
  6. I love "Keys" as well. The kind of role that Peck was born to play.
  7. By the way, have you watched your "Bitter Tea" DVD yet?
  8. Yes. I've got the box set. I even finally got Vampyr on DVD (so I can give away my old DVD-r). Dryer and Welles are two of my favorite directors not just because they are master film makers, but because they chose subjects that have always personally touched me. It would have been interesting to see Dryers life of Christ film if he had not passed away before gaining the funding.
  9. James Whale made much more than monster movies. Coming up on Thursday. Anyone watching?
  10. Coming up. Any fans of this film?
  11. OOPS! Color me confused! It comes on the 23rd (Friday?). Sorry, my bad. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
  12. That would be a tough call for sure. I would probably try to pick four films that I rarely see on TCM: Day of Wrath (1943) This is my personal favorite of all Dryers work. I would put it on a list of the 10 best films ever made. Voyage To Italy (1953) A major influence on the French New Wave. Stars George Sanders and Ingrid Bergman as a unhappily married couple who rediscover their love through a tour of Italy. What's not to like? The Walking Dead (1936) "You take away my life and offer me a favor instead". Boris Karloff shines in this crime film about a man wrongly executed who returns to life. Murphy's War (1971) Peter O'Toole gets to play an Irishman for a change. "Murphy", the only survivor of a Uboat attack in the closing days of WW2, will go to any length for revenge. This one pulls all the stops and invites questions on the duty of war VS. personal vendetta.
  13. Put the Blame on Mame? Yeah, that's a riot. My brother and I love it when Glenn is telling the little girl about the "three kittens who lost their mittens". You can tell he is stalling for time until the explosion noise sounds. It's actually quite humorous.
  14. I loved it in "The Major and the Minor" where the suspicious conductor asks "Su Su" to say something in Swedish. Su Su: "I want to be alone".
  15. Comes on tomorrow. That operation (I won't tell if you haven't seen it) STILL CREEPS ME OUT!
  16. Oh yes, I definitely knew about the studio tricks on Brad's voice that Sholz performed like turning the VSO on the recorder down to give him a supersonic range that he never had. He did have a very distinctive voice though. Boston was never my favorite band, but I will say Tom Sholz is an electronic genius and I don't use that term lightly. To record that first album in his basement with the setup he had was an amazing feat. He'd had the songs and been making demos since 1970 I believe, but there are people who have worked in pro studios all their lives that have not made records that sounded as good. This is the "Boston" I remember:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVe5V_Ih1_g If you lived around The Spectrum in Philly you probably saw a lot of the same thing!
  17. BVD is an ode to the outrageous that's for sure (I mean that as a compliment of course)!
  18. Yep. I will be recording. But we are jumping ahead just a bit on our scheduling. "Eyes Without a Face" (1959) shows Tuesday!
  19. That's one of GG's best performances as well. She does a great job as "Debbie". The scar on one half of her face has many implications. My favorite quote comes from the crime boss who says something like "Prison is full of idiots who wonder how they got there" (I probably don't have the wording just right).
