  1. The actress shown in a few frames watching TCM Remembers 2015 looks familiar, but I haven't been able to place her. Does anyone know who she is?

  3. Tennessee Ernie Ford had a small uncredit roll as nightclub/hillbilly singer in Best Years of Our Lives. I always watch for him, but have never been able to pick him out. Has anyone reading this been able to catch him in it? I assume it is during the scenes where they are nightclub hopping.
  4. I never actually saw this movie, but it rather sounds like "Repo Man (1984)" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087995/ Harry Dean Stanton, Emilio Estevez starring.
  5. And then there's "Harold and Maude"... haha! I hadn't thought of Maude as a cougar before now!
  6. I did find an obituary for a brother of Jack and Joe, Walter L. Donahue, which read: The Lowell Sun (Lowell Massachusetts) Jan 13, 1966: Walter L. Donahue, son of the late Dennis and the late Julia (Buckley) Donahue, fomerly of Charleston, died in New York City. He was a brother of the late Jack and the late Joe Donahue, of dance fame. He was a talented performer in theaters and nightclubs, and more recently was a member of the cast of the stage play "Oklahoma!", for more than six years, traveling with the show to New York, London and Berlin. For the past several years he made his home in New York City. His only surviving family member is Mrs. Warren A. Hookway of Pinewood Ave, of Billerica. ______ From 1900 and 1910 US Census info for this family, the birthdate showing on IMDB wouldn't be correct. The birthyear would be more likely to be 1899 for Joe Donahue. It seems pretty likely he has been deceased for some time. He did stage work after his last IMDB credits, and probably fell off the Hollywood radar.
  7. haha! I saw the subject line and thought someone was looking for a older movie with an older woman/younger man story line. The joke was on me! (and i was going to suggest "All that Heaven Allows" with Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson.) Wrong cougar!
  8. His bio on IMDB states that he died in 1930. The wording is a bit ambiguous, but it makes sense given his last film credit was released in 1931. IMDB missed posting the death date. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0231956/bio
  9. The scene you describe sounds like a scene from the film "Swing Kids", 1993. It wasn't poison in the boxes, but rather the ashes of loved ones of the families. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108265/
  10. TCM really blew it on leaving Michael Jackson out. That is an outrageos omission, and could only be a deliberate diss.
  11. Thank you! I'll keep my eye out for this one, and see if it fits the bill. I'll see if by any chance I can rent it.
  12. I have been wracking my brain to remember what movie intrigue was resolved by Charlotte Greenwood kicking a gun out of the bad guy's hand using her famous high kick. Any thoughts? I can't remember the movie!? I have gone through the list of Charlotte Greenwood's movies, but none of them ring a bell as having this kind of scenario in it.
