This is my first attempt at posting on TCM web site.
I have been telling all the people I work with about a movie I saw years and years ago but I cannot remember the name of the movie.
It was probably filmed in the early 50's or so and has no real stars that I can recall.
It goes something like this.
It takes place in a logging area of the country. It revolves around an immigrant family probably of scandinavian descent that live in a log cabin in the woods. The father gets ill and dies at the beginning of the movie and the oldest son (a twin by a few minutes) probably in his early teens quits school and goes to work taking water to loggers. He has several brothers and sisters. After a while his mother gets ill and on her death bed he promises her that he will make sure that his brothers and sisters are taken care of. After she dies a woman from the nearby town comes and is going to take the children all to a home. It is christmas eve and the boy asks if they can spend Christmas together and then they will go with her. She agrees. But instead the boy and his twin brother spend Christmas day going from house to house giving their brothers and sisters away to families they think will take care of them. Knowing that people won't turn them away at Christmas. It ends with the boy pulling his littlest sister on a sled off to town to give her away and he is going to go to work sweeping out this saloon.
As you can see, it is a real tear jerker but for the life of me I can't remember the title.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks a lot.
As soon as you mentioned it I put the name with the film.
Man, you are good.
I'll have to check out the web site. I'm really sorry I missed it on TV.
Thanks again.
