Ford at Fox... and RKO, and MGM, and WB, and Columbia...

A colleague of mine last night confesses to us that she has a BIG iguana problem in her backyard. (where I live some of the neighbors would frighten the iguanas, rather than vice versa) Seven of them (all 6 ft.long) routinely congregate there and eat her vegetation and her mangoes. Then they have the effrontery to HISS at her as she's picking up her precious fruit. So she calls Animal Control or whatever the heck that is and they say they have to charge her TWENTY DOLLARS A DAY to get rid of them. Seems they can't do it in one fell swoop. I never thought a property owner would be charged for this. They also tell her to buy some sort of solution (I forgot the name) to kill them "humanely", and then PUT THEIR BODIES IN HER FREEZER. -

That "Goodbye Columbus" song makes me wish I'd married the Richard Benjamin type that I spurned when I was still living in the Bronx. -

That movie and the song makes me so nostalgic I could weep. Frank's hanky is getting very, very wet now. -

Look into my eyes, Frank, I've got Pyewacket with me. You are sitting in front of your television set eating chocolate popcorn (for that girly "sweet-and-sour" craving-fix) and sobbing over LOVE STORY. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2709952512/tt0066011http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2709952512/tt0066011http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2709952512/tt0066011http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2709952512/tt0066011http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2709952512/tt0066011 -

What about ZOMBIE SEPARATION AND DIVORCE? -
You even like Ali in it -- you're a big fan then of the movie, Tricia! A lot of people love it.

OMG, that Conrad Veidt anecdote is A HOOT. Thanks for sharing it with us! The McGoohan scarecrow character is based on the old British "Dr. Syn" which I think was even a movie back in the 1930's with none other than George Arliss. I could be completely wrong about this, however.

Fedya, Welles probably would have kept Patricia Medina in the role of Anna. I'm sure Akim Tamiroff would have been a "Mexican" tour guide.

Yes, and for the Best Gloria Grahame Impression.

The worst horror in every respect is LOVE STORY.

You've got plumbers coming over Wednesday? More than one? Than maybe there's a chance that one of them looks like Marcello from UTTS. NOT. (sorry) Please keep me informed of these developments. I hope it won't be a wrenching experience. Get it? Get it? Wrenching? LOL (I'm laughing at my own puns; how pathetic) I don't know why soap around bathroom pipes is such a shock to Rusty and my other past plumbers. You'd think it was an alien substance to them or something. I saw DONOVAN'S REEF a long time ago but it only vaguely registers now. I seem to remember Christmas, palm trees, little kids, and the leading lady being spanked by Duke. -
I love to color too! I used to buy those Venus Coloring Kits as a kidlet. I'm going to color in THE BIG COUNTRY! That's about the neatest thing I've seen on the boards in a while. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48

I had images of the Polish Plumber too, alas. Rusty couldn't come up to Clifton Webb. -
I think so, because here he even gets furious when a hotel manager asks him for the overdue rent.

I was horrified myself. The guy looked like Rob Reiner as Meathead or something. -
LOL, you make such salient points. This movie was funnier to me than A&C MEET THE MUMMY. Yes, Glenn didn't look too hurt, did he? And Julie's magnanimous medical act was certainly a turn-around. I too was trying to figure out what Glenn was doing in Mexico. He was laughably hard-bitten, as though Rita Hayworth had kicked him in a sensitive area. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48

Do you want it back? It's pretty soggy right now. Did I recommend SHERMAN'S MARCH to you already? See it. This is imperative. -

Dawn French should play Mammy Remember the GWTW spoof by her and Saunders that I posted on the Favorites Thread? There's just something about Italian men.... -

When (another) plumber came a few months ago because my bathroom pipes were clogged, he looked at them and said it was full of white stuff, so I guess that must have been my Ivory bar soap. I do wash my hands a lot. That's why I have very few colds. The gel is too "squishy" to me. Come to think of it, Rusty looks kind of squishy as well. -

GWTW as a musical? I can see it. Mammy singing: "Oh, Miss Scarlett.....you done had a b-a-a-a-b-y, and yoooooooo are not gonna be seven-teeeeeeeeen inches againnnnnnnnnn...." -

I've always had a crush on Lindsey Buckingham. He looks like Colin Firth to me. (sigh) If Thackeray and Austen are too wimpy for your noir sensibilities, then I weep for your manhood. -

If you were ready to pop with child, like Sandra, would you immediately fly from San Francisco to Italy to bond with your best girlfriend, just because your lover dumped you?? You don't go, girl. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48 -

Raoul Bova looked delicious, but I was also having the warmies for married, gentle, wise Martini. If you were about 8 months pregnant like Sandra was, would you immediately fly to Tuscany? Just because your lover dumped you and you had to bond with your best bud Diane? -

Rusty likes to admonish me: "I see you're still using bars of soap instead of a dispenser. If your bathroom pipes clog up, don't come running to me!" But Rusty, that's your job. I like my Ivory bars! I feel cleaner somehow when I use the bars. Not sure why. I have a lot of interesting quirks myself but I won't go into all of them now. Unless one asks.
