  1. OMG, Miss G! I need a cold shower, and I'll be in there longer than Gloria in THE COBWEB.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmmvgLyKTdc&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFwY829H1-E&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbbge53OJCk&feature=related Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  3. LOL, the infamous AIRPORT, and Jean's infamous hair. I can't think of any great voices we have today in movies. I think I'll start a John McIntire Fan Club. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  4. I liked Burt with "the clown head on the body of a Greek god" as Anna tells herself in that movie.
  5. Yep, Troy's here. Haven't seen this in a long time; don't remember it too well.
  6. Seems like they auditioned everyone but Lassie. "Ashley told me he likes to see a dog with a healthy appetite" "Fiddle-dee-dee, ruff-ruff" Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  7. It's not one of Vincente Minnelli's best. We see a lot of Gloria's shoulders. You'll like that I'd put black truffles on my pizza, too.
  8. Hey, I love Hank singing! Thank you kindly!
  9. Those links I posted sometimes work, sometimes don't.
  10. Well now I can add THE COBWEB to my GG list, although I did see one scene in it a long time ago and never forgot it -- Richard Widmark heating hot milk for John Kerr. Why that has stayed in my mind is a complete mystery. Yes, Duane is a softie (but NOT a pushover). He is my personal Poppin' Fresh, my Dough Boy! When I press his stomach, he even giggles that same way. Did you just see Gloria in THE COBWEB? I have a "thread" (get it? get it? Cobweb, thread? Ah, nuts, hey, NUTS, mental clinic? Get it? Get it?) Here I am in a "nut"-shell: Champagne and pizza. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  11. Those male actors had to be on the set so early in the day, it is a wonder how they found time for all their extra-curricular activities.
  12. WOO-WOO! Come to me, Rod baby! Great photo, Goddess, thank you!
  13. You know, GG seems more playful to me, almost like a little girl. There's something very appealing in that. Yep, the male sex drive. It is what it is. Hard-wired from the get-go, no pun intended. We'll "Duke" this out later, lol, I'll be back on the boards this evening. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  14. It's all a question of personal taste of course, but if I were a guy my fantasies would revolve around Grace, Ava, Linda, Claudia. I actually don't think GG is that sexy! Don't hit me.
  15. I guess so. I could sort of "understand" if Clark wandered while married to those older women who apparently advanced his career, but Carol was a young lively woman. What man would cheat on her? (but then I'm remembering Michael Douglas's fling with plain Close when he's got gorgeous Ann Archer at home, in FATAL ATTRACTION. Given the opportunity,,,,) Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  16. Richard Greene was a handsome devil of a British actor, sort of an English Ty Power. You might remember him in THE LITTLE PRINCESS with Shirley Temple, where he falls in love with Anita Louise. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  17. From everything I've read about Lombard and Gable's marriage, apparently he cheated on her a lot, even up to the day of her death, and then felt a great deal of guilt and remorse afterwards. I remember reading that Carol would make disparaging remarks about Clark's ability in the bedroom; all in fun from her standpoint maybe, but with the fragile male ego, especially of a superstar like Gable known for his manly persona, it couldn't have been easy for him, despite the fact that she joined him in his outdoor pursuits. Everybody loved Carol, she had the common touch, and she was very patriotic, which led to her untimely death. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  18. You're not a crazed sci-fi/horror fan like me, so you might not easily bring Richard Denning to mind.
  19. You've really got it bad for GG, Frank, more so than Carol I think. Am I right? Let me tell you why Duane is really the guy for me. He's plain, and plain people try harder He's rotund, and can appreciate good food. He's eager to please and yet sensitive enough (because he's been rejected in the past by other women who didn't appreciate him) to keep his pride and self-respect; never giving in to me when he shouldn't. He will have a great sense of humor. He is unsophisticated yet will want to try caviar and champagne and the finer things in life to not only make me happy but to expand his world. He will diligently read books and attempt to better himself, yet never lose the common touch. He will be generous with money but knows how to save. He will be very ardent and emotionally available, not afraid to talk things out. And he'd look good in a kilt. I rest my case.
  20. Yes, I've seen IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE many times. I don't know why I didn't include it; probably because I was thinking at the time of Gloria's more mature femme fatales of the 50's when she became well known and even iconic. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  21. Unfortunately I've seen very little of Gloria. Let me see...THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, MAN ON A TIGHTROPE, THE BIG HEAT, OKLAHOMA, and THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  22. I'll try again with the beefcake and trenchcoat Denning; sorry about that. http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/richarddenning/richarddenning1.jpg http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/richarddenning/richarddenning18.jpg Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  23. Moody gals can be real difficult. I used to be that way when younger, but have sort of grown out of it. Now Carol may wake you up at 3 in the morning and ask your opinion of her party list, and you may never get a lot of sleep with this lady. (but not in the way you think, lol) You'll never be bored, that's for sure. Linda's way too insecure for you. You need a woman who is really secure in her own skin, like Carol. Or Gene. (I still say she's the one for you) You're perceptive about my attraction to Burt; it's probably just heat, but he's so charismatic. He would be very protective and warm, but he has another side: cold and cruel. I'd run far from that. You're right about Basehart; we'd connect intellectually, but I do think I could rev him up, so to speak. Robert Taylor would be energetic but I think he needs a woman to adore him all the time and I couldn't do that 24/7. Bill Holden would be unreliable, I guess, but he would take me far from Hollywood and we'd travel the world. He loves nature and so do I, but I'm not sure I'd want to go trekking around Africa. Rod is a bit too hairy for me (the chest) and he might have a wandering eye, but I believe he'd be loyal once he found the right girl; ME. Stuart and I would really connect physically but I do sense a lot of insecurity and possibly a bad temper underneath, whereas Richard Denning seems relaxed and doesn't take himself all that seriously. Richard Greene and I would be so happy living on our farm in the British Isles; he might be Jack-the-Lad a bit, but I could bring him down to earth. Nelson would put me on a pedestal and sing to me and defend my honor. (which is more than I ever did) and I would run my fingers through his wavy blonde hair. (I have a thing for men with wavy hair; Whitman's the exception) My beautiful Irish Dennis, what a sweetheart, and what a glorious voice too. He'd be loyal and have a great sense of humor. You might be right about Duke; he'd put me on a pedestal too, but my enthusiasms might just make him smirk. And you know I don't like him SMIRKING. Oh, how could I forget to put CORNEL WILDE on my list? Manly, yet sensitive! I'm not that great a daughter, trust me on this. My mother and I have long-standing issues that are still in the process of being resolved, if they ever are. "A smart, relaxed man who knows how to listen" -- sounds about right for me. A man who loves and respects his mother is paramount. If he treats her well, I know he'll do the same with me. Respect is the operative word. Jealousy is out. You've described me pretty well, but I'm no energizer bunny. My final pick? Duane!! What DOESN'T HE HAVE?? Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
