  1. I should start that new thread. (oh, now it seems you can get the Dennis picture when you click on, for what it's worth)
  2. There was supposed to be a lovely photo of Dennis Morgan, but, it's just as well. I should have started my own list on my I LOVE BURT thread as Frank suggested, not hijack this one. I'm sorry, everyone, for my self-indulgence. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48

  4. He also looks very dapper and handsome in a trenchcoat, Miss G: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/richarddenning/richarddenning18.jpg
  5. Ah! Thank you. Richard has a lovely hairless chest, which I prefer. http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/richarddenning/richarddenning1.jpg Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  6. Yes, I like Ronald very much. He's gentlemanly but also manly.
  7. I want them, lol!!! Potato chips and Richard Greene. What more could a girl want?
  8. You will note the irony that one of my hearthrobs, Richard Greene, became famous for playing Robin Hood on television, in light of my previous statements about Errol. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  9. LOL, yes, I'm a corned beef romantic. But on the other hand, I enjoy the finer things in life. So go figure.
  10. I give you a lot of credit for choosing Carol. She's every man's best friend and lover, intelligent, playful, sexy, down-to-earth, funny, irreverent, sharp, independent, but she might have a wicked and blunt tongue that could cut to the quick. You'd never get away with anything. Nothing genteel about her, and she may be very moody and want her own space. A lot of arguments might ensue and I see her throwing things at you, but not in a scary violent Mayo Methot type way. You wouldn't land in the hospital. You'll have a lot of animals and host a lot of wacky parties. One of your dogs might be named "Asta" in honor of The Thin Man and her ex, William Powell. She is definitely not traditionally beautiful, and she doesn't have that immediate steamy sensuality but she could greet you at the door with nothing but that fur and champagne as well. (although I see her as the martini type) I'm VERY surprised you picked Linda as number two; she's too vixen-ish and I see her going after the money and status. Gene should have been #2! I'll list some of mine on this thread, not Burt's. In no particular order: John Wayne, Richard Denning, Richard Basehart, Rod Taylor (but with glasses, as in THE CATERED AFFAIR) Dennis Morgan, Stuart Whitman, Richard Greene, Robert Taylor, William Holden, Burt, Nelson Eddy. I have a thing for the Mounties. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  11. Gene is patient and loyal, Frank, but even she might find it hard to wait FOREVER. Actually, I've never considered myself a hopeless romantic, but I could be deceiving myself. Don't hopeless romantics write that they love to "walk on the beach" when they write personal ads? I may enjoy that activity, but I'd never put it in a singles magazine. So therefore I've declared myself un-romantic. On the other hand, living in cashmere and tweed with a handsome Laird in Scotland doesn't sound bad.
  12. When Gloria dumps you (and she will), Gene will be patiently waiting with open arms.
  13. Is it official: you and Gloria, then? She'll break your heart, I'm telling you.
  14. My definition of "knight in shining armour" is the handsome stalwart good guy, along the lines of Nelson Eddy, Dennis Morgan, Richard Denning, John Wayne. Wendell is the bland vanilla never-gets-the-girl loser, even though his heart is as decent as they come. He doesn't exude sex appeal for me. I wouldn't throw Errol out of bed, mind you, and he's tremendously appealing as Robin Hood, but he's too Peter Panish for my taste. For me, there's no real substance there. Yeah, Rod's greatest performance is in DOCTOR ZHIVAGO. If you're a Lumet fan, THE PAWNBROKER is a must. Not easy to watch, to say the least. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  15. I just think Gene has it all for Frank. But he might pick Claudia, I have a feeling. He might think Gene is too genteel as you say, "where it counts" but I don't think so. She'd warm up real nice. Also, I know you picked Grace, but I think Grace might be a bit, oh, I don't know, manipulative if things weren't going her way. I could be wrong, but it's just a feeling I have. Grace could be more aggressive behind closed doors it's true and Frank would love that, but I don't think he could fully trust her when all is said and done. She also has a restless quality about her that wouldn't bode well for a long-term relationship, whereas Gene is forever. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  16. Re: Larry Talbot photo....In addition to honoring the potato chip on March 14th, it's also Full Moon Day.
  17. I think Frank should've hooked up romantically with Dino in SOME CAME RUNNING. I wonder if Gig Young ever did a movie with Martha. One crooked sardonic smile meeting another.
  18. Well, let me see. I'd say you probably could CONVINCE yourself that you were in love with Gloria, but I think you'd settle down with Gene. Why? Because Gene has a classy sex appeal. She's not an ice queen like Grace and she's not overtly va-va-va-voom like Linda or Claudia. She'll nurture you without making you think of your mother; at the same time, she'll bring out your manly protectiveness. She'll get all your jokes and laugh at them. She can probably do the Lombard gal-pal thing real fine, enjoying a hike in the woods as much as a four course meal at a fancy restaurant, but you could have a burger with her at the local joint, and she'll treat everyone from every social class with warmth and sincerity. She will be eternally supportive of you while voicing her own opinions on the subjects she feels are important, but she is not the B word. She is just as likely to greet you at the door in nothing but a fur coat and a glass of champagne (she impulsively decides this after she finishes reading the New York Times Book Review; a woman of many sides) as she is to modestly meet your mother and make a wonderful impression. She is never common or coarse, yet she has the common touch with everyone she meets. Missy would be a bit too blunt for you; Ava would cheat on you left and right; Madeline is charming but I see her maybe not as sensual as you would like. No, it's got to be Gene for you. 19. From the list you give, if I were a guy I think I'd be most likely to fall in love with Gene and Missy. I'd have flings with the rest, including Gloria.
  20. Although I really like Garfield, I find his "the fates are stacked against me" persona overworked in NOBODY LIVES FOREVER. I like Geraldine in THE PAWNBROKER; have you ever seen that? She is very touching trying to get through to Rod Steiger. I find the lady and the street guy scenarios appealing, but I have to confess that I lean more toward the knight-in-shining armour. (i.e., Ian Hunter over Errol Flynn; I know I've shocked you and probably everyone else) I actually think Nelson Eddy is sexy. But I do have my limits. Wendell Corey, for example. His lips will never touch mine. Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
  21. Oh, I just am now reading your post -- I love CASABLANCA in so many ways, but I find his character a little TOO sensitive. I don't mind him vulnerable, but I don't want to see him gettin' all weepy. Even over Ingrid. As an actor he's very good at showing us his emotions, but here it's just too much for me. I love Bogie paranoid, like in TREASURE, THE CAINE MUTINY, andd THE TWO MRS. CARROLLS. And who could forget him in THE RETURN OF DR. X? Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48
