Remember Debbie Reynolds' food obsession in SUSAN SLEPT HERE? -- pickles mixed with strawberries? -- I love that combination. And ever since Marilyn dipped her potato chips in champagne in THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH, I've done the same. It's delicious!

Bronxgirl: "Mom, THE RAINMAKER is on tomorrow and you'll enjoy it"
Mom: "Who's in it?"
Bronxgirl: Katherine Hepburn, Burt Lancaster, Wendell Corey"
Mom: "Oh, I don't think I've seen it. What's it about?"
Bronxgirl: "Well, Hepburn is a spinster and Wendell Corey is sweet on her, and Lancaster comes into town and shakes everyone up".
Mom: "She doesn't marry Wendell Corey, does she?
Bronxgirl: "I'm not going to spoil the story for you!"
Mom: "With Burt Lancaster around, she's thinking of marrying Wendell Corey? (laughs)
Bronxgirl: "Hey, it ain't over till it's over, eh, Mom?"
Mom: "Don't be cute".

That's great Italian neo-realism!

I KNEW Alan would be nice! I always underrated him as a serious actor until I saw THE SEDUCTION OF JOE TYNAN. The only Robert Alda film I've seen is THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS.
-
Hey, the more posts the better on Tony and this film!
-
You must see the error of your Pappy-hating ways.
Give me your interpretation of the following; I want a report on my desk by 9 a.m. tomorrow morning:
-
Which Ford films haven't you seen yet?

Oh that's right she did, didn't she (I was trying to forget he knew) A weird western -- you've got the philosophical concepts of Trumbo, the kinkiness of Aldrich, and there's a bit of melodramatic Sirk in there too.
-
I've recovered from my Manchurian madness. It was a momentary weakness. I threw my cards out. (but I did have a nightmare last night about giant Heinz ketchup bottles)
Poisoned to death by Pappy? Duke and Maureen are going to work you over. Then you'll be a real quiet man. But don't worry, Ward Bond and/or Arthur Shields will pray for your soul.
-
You frightened me, LOL
And it's got Rhonda Fleming, Kirk, Steve Brodie too. I'll get on the ball with this!
-
I have no use for s.o.b. men in any way, shape or form. That being said, I'm not looking for Alan Alda in an apron to serve me coffee.
He can take the apron off.

I'm getting weird languages when I click on it.
-
That quote really intrigues me.

I think she's good for another 10 years yet, so you've got time.

I'm the good Bette Davis twin sister in A STOLEN LIFE. Can you tell the difference?

Picturesque: Burt, Stuart, Rod, Monty, Duane.
And a whole host of others. But I have to tell you, my brain is filled to the gills with LASAGNA and my cognitive faculties are a little vague right now.

I grew up with Hayley but now I think I'm preferring sis.
I too didn't want to think about what might or might not have happened after that kiss in THE LAST SUNSET. If characters don't know the truth about their relationship, does it make it "all right"? I'm not sure. (and this was made one year before LOLITA)

And a Happy Valentine's Day to you too Scottie me darlin'! I made my special Bronxgirl Skillet Lasagna and garlic pesto bread, and my girlfriend came over with chocolate cake and wine. We commiserated over lost loves and toasted to better romantic times ahead. Then we went back to her house for more wine, espresso, and watched Stuart Whitman ride his horse.
Speaking of pots of coffee, I'm caffeinated to the hilt now. Duane sent me a cappuccino maker all the way from Little Italy in New Yawk. He's so thoughtful. (5 months to the wedding)
I can't think of a nicer way for Mimi to spend her last hours than dancing with you, FG.
That photo is exactly how Duane looks as he's speaking to me. I'm so intoxicating to him, if I do say so myself.
I just may throw out your voodoo doll. I don't think I can stick pins in you anymore.
That is, for now.

I liked your perceptive comments on COME BACK, LITTLE SHEBA.

I liked Taylor as he aged; he grew into those rugged good looks. That oft-told notion of him being prettier than his leading ladies wasn't true in THE CONSPIRATORS!
Hot still of Kate and Burt. Was she even thinking of Spence right then and there??
-
No, Sheba went to that great Metaphor in the Sky, I'm sorry to say.
-
Burt must be lookin' real good in that one!
-
You're welcome, kim! Your parents had good taste. We've got STRANGERS WHEN WE MEET coming up soon! And I think MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT too.
-
Oy vay, Karen was my least favorite on that show!
Give me Mr. Novak any time.
And whatsamatta, ya don't like PICKLES, lol??

what classic film are you a virgin of?

You need to see THE INFORMER and DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK immediately. Do not dilly-dally!
After you've seen these, I will call you and give further instructions. Get out your playing cards.
