Something about the shape of these two actor's faces and their expressions always remind me of that Wascally Wabbit, lol.

Vaguely recall THE SAXON CHARM but get it mixed up with RAGE IN HEAVEN, where Bob plays I think a similar type of character.

I've also always noted a strong resemblance between Bugs and Zachary Scott.

And Lloyd Nolan LOOKS like Bugs Bunny. (I've always thought so)

Haven't seen TWE in a long time and don't even remember the caliber of performances from anyone in the cast. Will have to check it out again and pay more attention! Even in NIGHT MUST FALL I detect a slight Bugs undertone, lol.

I enjoy Robert Montgomery in two films: NIGHT MUST FALL and HERE COMES MR. JORDAN. But his voice always sounds like Bugs Bunny.

That's another good one. GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, too. (Howard Hawks also can do it all -- any genre!) So funny especially when Marilyn gets stuck in the porthole and Coburn strolls by. I'm chuckling just thinking about it, lol.

Has to be Frank Morgan's best film performance imo. Some people seem to think all he ever did was THE WIZARD OF OZ.

When I first saw Charles Coburn in KINGS ROW I was chilled to the bone by his performance. Could never watch him afterwards in comedies (and he's wonderful in THE MORE THE MERRIER) because all that came to mind was the sadistic Dr. Gordon. (shudder!) That's the mark of a great actor!

I watched BEAT THE DEVIL for the first time and was freaked out by Bogart's face. It was heavily made up and uncomfortably reminded me of his character in THE RETURN OF DR. X. I love when he plays nut jobs -- THE TWO MRS. CARROLLS, CONFLICT, IN A LONELY PLACE, THE CAINE MUTINY. All the ones you mention are fun, very enjoyable, except for MARK OF THE VAMPIRE. Poor Bela. Carroll Borland is interesting but the whole production is just too, oh I don't know, M.G.M.-ish or something, lol.

I know what you mean about that ending in GILDA. "Let's go home" That's it? I don't think such a, to put it mildly, complicated relationship would have been resolved so quickly.
