  1. Hey filmlover, I was wondering if I can use the schedule that I already have but it won't be for the challenge though, it will be suggestions for the people at TCM, thay can then take my schedule and change some stuff, like thay can add the silent sunday night or the cartoon alley, they can even take some movies off my schedule. It won't really be for the challenge but it would be reccomendations for TCM, they can take my schedule and do whatever they want with it, change some stuff or whatever. The schedule that I have now will just be to show TCM some ideas that I have for schedules, it won't be the actual schedule because they can add the cartoon alley or the sunday silent night by taking out some stuff that is on my schedule. I decided a couple of days ago not to do the challenge and I don't want to break the rules of the challenge so this will not be for the challenge, it will just be reccomendations.
  2. Exactly filmlover and that is why I will not continue with the schedule, I don't want to break the rules. I am not asking you to allow me to use my schedule and I understand that I can't use the one that I had but still it was the one that I belived in and I can't just make a schedule filled with movies that I have never herd of before, it will be somthing that I won't have any feelings for and I would just be wasting my time creating somthing and I have no idea what it is that I am creating. I am not asking you to allow me to use my schedule, I am just telling you why I decided not to do the challenge, I am not asking for anthing from you, belive me I don't want to break the rules either.
  3. I don't prefer newer films over older films, I just like all kinds of films. I like old and new films. I am not saying that today's movies are better than older films, I am saying that they are both good. I don't judge movies by how old or new they are, I like all kinds of films, I am not as judgemental as most film lovers or artists can be. I pretty much like anything. As for the schedule is concerned, I don't want to change the schedule that I already had, I worked for hours trying to come up with it, I really don't want to go over it again because I made myself crazy creating that schedule. I also don't like the fact that I have to change it because I liked the schedule that I had, It was a schedule that I belived in and if I make any changes to it than what's the point, I will have a schedule filled with movies that I have never herd of before, It will be a schedule that I will not belive in, I will just be wasting my time creating somthing and I have no idea what it is that I am creating, I am sorry you guys but I am just happy with the schedule that I had and I don't want to change anything about because it was already perfect and it was somthing that I belived in and it was filled with thngs that interest me. Again, good luck with your schedules, they're looking great.
  4. I never said that the film was bas because it does have it's moments but it's not a favorite of mine.
  5. All the schedules that I have seen so far look really good, I'm impressed with some of the imagination that went into these schedules. I just want to say congratulations to you all on your fantastic schedules.
  6. I never cared for the film version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, although I love the novel and although I love James Mason a lot but this movie is not a favorite, I am much more excited about seeing Batman Returns on TCM tonight.
  7. Who is arguing here, nobody is arguing here. We are just posting our opinions.
  8. No! What decade or era the movie was made in has nothing to do with anything. The question are you happy about movies made after 1975 or are you not is a completly irrevelent question and what does it have to do with anything, why does the year matter? How about after 76 or 79 or 83? I honestly don't understand why the year that the movie was made is so important to people.
  9. Starman is no different from the movies made in the 30s or 40's, it's actually very much like the films from that era, so it's still obvious that the only reason people hate Starman is because it was not made in the 30s or 40s, ect.
  10. Yes, but they have better knowledge than I do which makes me ashamed of myself but I will get over it. I just don't think that I am right for it.
  11. I don't know if I have told you all this but I have decided not to do the challenge, I don't think that I am the right person for this, you all have better knowledge than I do which makes me feel like a complete idiot. I love all the modern films too much I guss. I guss I am not the film buff that I thought I was all my life, I guss if you like modern films than you are not considered a true film buff.
  12. The thing is that I don't know what movies have not been released on DVD.
  13. Yes, but what about the New to DVD time slot. I told you that pretty much all of the films that I like have already been released on DVD and this whole thing is killing me and it's one of the reasons why a part of me really does not want to do the challenge, I don't know what to do about this whole New to DVD thing because all the movies I like are already on DVD so I don't know what to do.
  14. I am having a stressful time fixing my schedule because of the New to DVD time slot that we have to do and I really don't understand why we have to do that. Pretty much all the movies that I like have been released on DVD and I have no clue what to put on this New to DVD time slot.
  15. All of Stanley Kubrick's films are breath taking. Nobody captured beauty like he did.
  16. I don't have to say anything, lzcutter pretty much said everything that I have tried to say and because he is a better speaker than I am, he gets it across better than I do. All the things that he said are the things that I have been trying to say to but did not comunicate it correctly so thank you lzcutter for your words because they mean a lot to me and it's what I have always belived in but just didn't have a perfect way to say it like you do.
  17. I'm confused, which one of my threads were you responding to?
  18. I tried getting into John Ford once because I herd about his reputation as a filmmaking legend but I lost interest in the first 30 mintues of his films. I have always been more of a Frank Capra kind of guy.
  19. I love all of those films too, I don't consider those movies about mass murder. I guss what he means is the Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down type war films where there is just mass murder every second of the film.
  20. I never cared for John Wayne, he always played the same character and his delivery was never inspiring and I found him to be a bit annoying at times. He wasn't really an actor, he was a cowboy who ended up having an acting carrer, he's no Cary Grant that's all I'm saying.
  21. 2001: A Space Odyssey, Heavenly Creatures, American Beauty, City of Angles, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Romeo and Juliet (1996 version), Halloween, Rocky, A Guy Named Joe, Deep Impact. That's my list.
  22. Classic is such an overrated word. A great film is a great film and I hate that it has to have a good reputation by film fans to be considered a classic. The only reason why people hate Starman is because it was not made in the 30s. I think that that is what makes me different from most film buffs, I like films that make me feel somthing or take me into other worlds that you don't see in the real world. All the other film fans judge movies by how old or new they are, It's almost like they only like the movie because it's old or new and they don't care about the actual movie itself.
  23. The thing is that I don't know a lot of silent films and I don't watch a lot of cartoons so I don't know what to put in the Silent Sunday Special or the Cartoon Ally because I don't know a lot of silent films or cartoons.
  24. I actually decided not to do it, all though I wish you all good luck on your challenges. I hope all of yours work out well.
