  1. I am having a stressful time with my shdeule, I am told that I have to change so much and don't know how to fix it. I really wanted to do this but I don't know if I should continue with it or not.
  2. I think that Starman is a classic and I am glad that TCM are now paying attention to the more underrated films. Starman isn't very well know and I thought that I was the only one who had seen it and I am so happy that the people at TCM like it to.
  3. Well actually, I am having a hard time with my programming challenge, I have completed it but I am told that I need to change some things and I am confused on what I must do, I don't know if I am going to continue with the challenge yet, I will just have to get word from filmlover about how I can solve the problum because I did not understand his instructions, this challenge is hard work but it is fun like you said and I hope that my schedule will work out but right now I am not so sure.
  4. Wow! from all of the reviews that I have read and also reading the messages on the board, it sounds like people really hate this movie, I haven't seen it yet but I plan on watching it tonight and find out if it really is a bad movie or if people are just being cynical.
  5. I have nothing against modern movies because I like all kinds of movies, I really doubt that it is awful, I accept all kinds of films from every era and I am sure that I will like it because I usually like everything.
  6. That is the exact same view that I have on the film and I don't think that I could have said it any better, I really liked your words.
  7. I can't exactly say what the best movie ever made is because we all have opinions but I will say that my favorite is 2001: A Space Odyssey.
  8. I have to say that Ingrid Begman is my favorite classic movie actress because of her unique presence and beauty on film. I will say the obvious that Cary Grant is my favorite classic movie actor, do I need a reason? I think that you all know my reason.
  9. All films by Stanley Kubrick and Frank Capra I consider the most beautiful films ever made.
  10. I have never seen it before but I have been wanting to though, even though I am not a fan of Cameron Crowe, I still would like to see Jerry Maguire. I don't know if it is as awful as people on this board say it is, I actually doubt that it's that awful, there is no way that it could be worse than Manos: Hands of Fate, now that is an awful film.
  11. You know what, I think that I started this whole fight, I could not just ignore Dirks post like filmlover said. I think that we should just stop fighting about this and just stick to our own opinions because I don't want someone to get offended or get their feelings hurt.
  12. Visuallly I thought that Tron was ok, but it got really dull during the 2nd act.
  13. I never said that the movie was bad, I liked parts of it, but I have to admit that some of the acting was not that good, I am glad that you like it though, it's good to know that someone else can see somthing in the film that I can't.
  14. Thank you, You really keep up to date with TCM news. I thank you each time you give me new information.
  15. Thnk you, you could not be more right. That's exactly what I have been trying to say. Thank you, I could not have said it better.
  16. On the Waterfront is a personal favorite of mine, I makes me cry everytime I watch it, it was soo ahead of it's time. Sublime piece of performance and direction.
  17. Considering that George Stevens was a pretty good filmmaker, I really love The Diary of Anne Frank, I would pick that film over Shane anyday.
  18. Yeah, that child actor wasn't that good either.
  19. Is the Spielberg documentary still going to air? Maybe that is a different month I have to look again.
  20. Yeah, I thought that the acting was a bit bad at times but I still think that it's a good movie, I am a huge George Stevens fan and I love the cinematography. I love the fight scene too, what more could you want from a western than a good cowboy fight scene.
  21. No offence because I respect your views and opinions but I think that Sin City is a bit overrated, I found it to be a bit pretentious and obvious but that is just my opinion.
  22. Have any of you seen any of John Carpenter's other films and if so which ones were they and what did you think of them, I think he has made some good movies but I don't think that he has made a decent film since 1988's They Live, which was a great movie.
