  1. Trust me, I doubt that they will. They are still playing plenty of older films.
  2. I doubt that Spielberg is a thief and I doubt that he ever saw that film.
  3. i haven't watched a new movie. Same here, I can't even remember the last time I went to the theater. Welcome to the board.
  4. I also pick Halloween and Easy Rider. Oh, I fogot Peter Jackson's Braindead.
  5. Eyes Wide Shut is the most underrated film in the past 15 years.
  6. You know, I wasn't a huge Heath Ledger fan but I did like him, I just wasn't aware of most of his work and after I found out that he died I decided to see a few of his films and I am now a big fan of his. I think that it wasn't his time to go, he still had more to say in his acting but these things happen sometimes, I think that his death was an accident and I know that he was a good man. I will miss him very much.
  7. I like Tom Cruise, he is one of the few good actors these days and I enjoy all of his movies. I think that people are just looking for an excuse to hate him. Sure, I don't agree with some of the things that he does but I love his acting and his films.
  8. Night of the Living Dead gets my vote as the best amateur film ever made. It's so cheap and yet so ambitious.
  9. I only watch movies by myself. I have tried watching movies with other people but I get annoyed with how cynical people are. They always talk during the movie or somtimes they make fun of the movie. I like to sit at the edge of my bed and go into another world, you can't do that when you are with someone else, it's your own experience.
  10. Then that's fine, it's ok if you don't like that they are showing Hook but don't complain about TCM not showing enough older films when you know for a fact that they are still showing plenty of films from the golden age. I respect your opinion about a certain film being shown but it's stupid that people think that TCM is going to end up like AMC when they know that there are still plenty of classic films being shown, it's time to wake up. I wish that some of you would calm down and relax, TCM will not abandon the classics, it's pretty obvious that they won't. You guys are starting to make me t
  11. Were you listening to a word that I was saying? I said that TCM is still showing movies from the 30s and 40s during the 31 Days of Oscar salute. Are you blind or just stupid? Just because they are showing a few new movies doesn't mean anything? Of course you are crying for no reason. They are still showing plenty of older films during the 31 Days of Oscar Salute so give me one good reason to why you need to complain? If they were playing newer films all the time then I could understand why you would be complaining.
  12. Johnny Depp is overrated to me. The only movie that I like of his is Ed Wood.
  13. TCM is still showing plenty of old films during the 31 Days of Oscar salute and they will be playing a lot of old films in March and April too so what's the problem, you are just crying for no reason.
  14. I also hear that Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie is going to be re-released on DVD on May 6th, 2008. This is good news since the previous VHS and DVD releases are out of print.
  15. That's a hard one, the only ones that I can think of are Tom Crusie, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Leonardo Dicarprio, Jack Nicholson, Kate Winslet and Jodi Foster.
  16. You are not being forced to not watch it, you are chosing not to watch it, there is a difference you see.
  17. But you need to understand that TCM shows more older films then they do newer films so what's your problem. You will still have time to see your precoius classics. They only play newer films every once in a while. Just because they play a newer film every once in a while does not mean they are going the way of AMC, they play newer films all the time, TCM doesn't. You are crying for no good reason that's the problem.
  18. I don't think that he was talking about Gigi, that's a great movie. I think that he was talking about Gigli.
  19. Do you honestly belive that TCM is going to show Gigli, I really doubt it. You guys are making too big of a deal out of this. Why would they ever show Gigli? Message was edited by: Kubrickbuff
  20. I agree with you, I liked your words. Another movie I think that they should play is Blade Runner, not the theactrical cut, I prefer the director's cut. I agree with you that Escape from New York and They Live would be great too.
  21. Everytime TCM shows a newer film somebody has to come on the board and say the same thing again and again, everytime they show a newer film someone starts a thread complaining that TCM is becoming AMC. TCM is still showing older films ok, they are playing more older films then newer films so I don't see what the problem is, you will still get to see your precious classics. Next month we will have somebaody on the borad complaining about Lord of the RIngs and Seven being played, it never ends. Get over it, don't be a cry baby. As for Alien being shown on TCM, why not, we have plenty of time to
  22. Tootsie gets my vote, that movie should have won the oscar that year because it's a well crafted film but instead Gandhi won, I mean why give an oscar to a movie you can't even sit through. I think that Vertigo and Fargo should have won the oscar too. You hardly ever see movies about real people win the oscar, it's mostly hystorical films but not all the time, I agree that His Girl Friday should have won and not The Grapes of Wrath, it's obvious that The Grapes of Wrath would win, just because it's based on a classic book, same with Gone with the Wind, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington should have
  23. I was going to watch this film but I forgot to watch it, is it any good? Can I get it on DVD anywhere?
